Most of us have been called or have called someone "tender headed" when referring to their inability to sit through the usual hair combing and styling without squirming in pain.

Sometimes it is a sensitivity. Other times, scalp tenderness is due to inflamed hair follicles. Follicular inflammation can feel itchy, tender, painful and can even burn. Long term inflammation, when neglected can lead to follicle damage and since the follicle is the house of the hair, if it's destroyed, so is the hair. This is where many forms of alopecia can take shape and compound without you even realizing it until it's visible.

We will go deeper into this during my Scalp Care for Healthy Hair class.

I'll be sharing with you 2 simple things you can do NOW, to help you combat scalp inflammation and avoid hair thinning and loss.

When you leave this class, you will be able to confidently choose & use your hair products to get expert results in your scalp and hair health!

No more guessing. Your answers are here.

Details for the class are below. Seating is limited. Grab your ticket. I'll meet you there! >>>https://my-site-107796-106258.square.site

Can you believe someone could say something like this? I struggled with accepting my own hair as a young girl. I’ve since learned that this particular struggle stemmed from various sources.

You have a hard time accepting your hair type because:

☝🏽Of what you your family and other people or have said
☝🏽You own negative self talk
☝🏽Past trauma
☝🏽Media influences ( I read somewhere that 6 major companies control EVERYTHING on tv INCLUDING what they consider the standard of beauty.)
☝🏽You compare yours to someone else’s.
☝🏽Good hair bad hair narrative aka

The only ugly hair type is the damaged kind and the ONLY narrative we should accept is the one from our Creator.

✨Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained in the way of righteousness. proverbs 16:31

✨but if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her. For her hair is given to her for a covering. 1 Corinthians 11:15

✨Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows. Luke 12:7

Your hair IS GOOD hair. 😏👩🏾‍🦱🤞🏽

Yooo. I was fresh off training at at HCX and I did this color in one sitting and I think it was WITHOUT Olaplex 😩 She had a relaxer AND this fiery red color and had damaged hair. She came out a healthier, blonde bombshell tho. I did that. *Brushes shoulders off* 😏

Sometimes you may find that your hair gets thicker/fuller before it looks longer as it grows. Here’s one of the reasons why: Interior breakage.

Interior breakage is breakage which can be caused by some protective styles, dryness, neglect, manipulation, etc. As these hairs grow they add to the fullness of the hair closer to the root giving the appearance of thicker hair up top. Once these strands get longer, it’ll add to the fullness and length towards the bottom.

Be sure to see your stylist regularly for hair care and home maintenance tips. 🌱

What’s my Curl type?

I get that question sometimes and honestly, I don’t really know what your curl types are. 🤷🏽‍♀️

The curl type chart is originally called THE HAIR CHART and was created by Oprah Winfrey’s hairstylist, Andre Walker in the 90’s BEFORE natural hair exploded on the scene again.

It was a classification system that he was using to market his new product line at the time.

While it can be helpful, you may never get an accurate read of your curl type.

A few things I’ve learned:

✨ Many of us have multiple textures and types throughout our hair.
✨The best thing to to use this chart for is to MANAGE your EXPECTATIONS.

So that when you do a YouTube tutorial or show your stylist a picture, you understand there could be a difference in the results base in hair type.

✨The best type of curl to have is in the type “H” range. That’s the Healthy type.

🌱Also remember, NOTHING about this hair classification system has ANYTHING to do with your value or worthiness as a person.

🌱You are wonderfully and fearfully made, intentionally, on purpose JUST like you are. 🤞🏽
