Ambrosia Botanicals Apothecary & Farm was born out of a love for the gifts, magic and bounty of nature. Well hello there. YOU CAN DO THAT?
We sell handmade herbal teas, body & healthcare products as well as fresh fruit, veggies and herbs. I'm Amy, the founder of Ambrosia Soap & Bodycare. Ambrosia soap & bodycare was born out of a lifelong love of body and self care. As a teenager, I remember reading teen magazines cover to cover soaking in all the beauty tips, trying all the different products I could get her hands on. It wasn't until I stumbled upon a movie many years later that told stories about herbs and magic and making natural products that I discovered the world of handmade products. My fascination with all things natural and handmade was born.
15 years ago, I bought my first books about herbs. Soon I discovered other natural body care books and little by little I became more and more fascinated with the idea of making products from natural ingredients the earth gives us. It became a way of life for me, a foundational piece of my spirituality: the earth provides for us all we need to live on this planet, all we need to do is respect care and use that which she gives. Ambrosia soap and bodycare are gorgeously made, thoughtfully crafted products meant to not just make time in the shower more pleasant, rather they invite you to slow down and enjoy life in a bit more sensual way and nourish yourself with pleasure, goodness and joy for your senses. For me, taking care of my body is more than just a necessity, it is a delight and an experience that gives me a chance to be good to myself in a luxurious and holistic way that takes care of me, my body and the planet. Every season I make adorable little seasonal themed soaps for kids and adults alike. I know many people have switched to liquid body wash and soaps but with the plastic bottles and additional chemcials in those products, I like the simpler, eco friendly option of a cute, handmade bar of soap. Tiny (because hello these onions are kinda tiny!) but I grew these from seed. Perhaps not terribly exciting or sexy to post about, but Onions are notoriously hard to grow from seed and some years I don’t even try. But this year I babied them so hard before I planted them outside and voila! I’ve gotten about a dozen small onions. I planted them in containers so perhaps they would have grown bigger if they’d been in the ground. But alas, I am REJOICING in my delight that I grew this elusive veg.

Each day, usually at the beginning of my day, I get outside almost immediately upon waking and say hello to the trees and the birds and the big wide web that surrounds us all. I give thanks and offer myself to be used well that day. As a high anxiety sort of human, I need the groundedness that only nature can offer. It is my sanctuary and my reminder of the fundamental goodness and benevolence of this world and the divine. May you find that deep well of contentment and renewal in the friend that is nature. It’s there if you seek it.

The way the light of the setting sun hits this begonia every evening this season is the perfect capsule of summer joy and simplicity that summer is meant to bring. I never tire of looking at it. Because while photos never can fully capture the luminosity of flowers, this plant absolutely glows in the bask of the setting sun.
