It began with my oldest daughter’s twin boys. One of them suffered deeply with skin dermatitis — his delicate skin bled, and almost everything brought him pain.
Watching him struggle set me on a search for answers. My first studies were simple: burdock root and calendula, two plants gentle enough to soothe, yet strong enough to begin his healing. That search opened a door I hadn’t realized I had been standing before my whole life. Plants had always been my quiet companions, my secret healers since childhood, carrying me through hard seasons when I needed them most. My grandson’s struggle lit a fire inside me — a calling that this was my purpose all along: to tend to plants, to learn their language, and to share their gifts in the most natural way possible. What began as Illuminating Lotus SPS — soaps, bath bombs, and body luxuries crafted with care — has now grown into Carrawah’s Apothecary, a line of tinctures, oils, teas, and herbal offerings. Together, they carry my story forward: one side for daily comfort and beauty, the other for deeper connection with plants as ritual, study, and quiet magic. 🌿
