One product I love using with my Alzheimer’s clients during sundowning. Is Lavender Renew Moisturizing Lotion. The calming lavender scent, combined with a gentle hand massage, helps create a more peaceful environment.

I also love that it leaves skin soft, absorbs quickly, and doesn't feel greasy. It's not a cure, but it's one simple way to bring a little more comfort and calm at the end of the day.

As a caregiver for Parkinson's and dementia, I've learned Parkinson's is more than tremors.

People see the physical symptoms, but not the mental anguish and fear behind

As a caregiver specializing in Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, and dementia, I've learned that Parkinson's is about so much more than tremors.

Many people see the physical symptoms, but they don't see the mental anguish, fear, and frustration that often come with this disease.

A Parkinson's diagnosis does not define who you are. You are stronger than this diagnosis, and you never have to face it alone.

One of the hardest parts of being a dementia caregiver is saying goodbye.

Some of my clients transition into memory care, and many families invite me back to visit after they've had time to adjust. It always fills my heart when they remember me or ask for me.

To me, that means they felt safe, loved, and important—and that's what mat ters most.

Moments like these are exactly why I love what I do. ❤️

One of the biggest things I teach families is this...

Please try not to say, "Remember..." to someone living with Alzheimer's or dementia.

It may seem like a harmless word, but to them it can feel like a test they simply can't pass. That one word can lead to frustration, anxiety, embarrassment, or even anger.

Instead of asking them to remember, gently offer the information.

💙 Instead of: "Remember, your doctor's appointment is today."Try: "We're going to the doctor this morning."

💙 Instead of: "Don't you remember who I am?"Try: "Hi Dad, it's Tara. I'm here to spend some time with you."

As a dementia caregiver, one of the greatest gifts we can give is preserving their dignity. We're not testing their memory—we're meeting them where they are with patience, reassurance, and kindness.

Sometimes, changing just one word can change the entire interaction.

One of the biggest lessons I've learned caring for people with dementia...

Sometimes they're not being stubborn—they're overwhelmed.

Asking, "What do you want for lunch?" or "What do you want to wear?" may seem and easy question to answer, but for someone with dementia, too many choices can cause their brain to freeze.
Instead, try making things easier: 💜 Offer two choices instead of an open-ended question. 💜 Show them the options instead of just asking. 💜 Keep routines simple and consistent. 💜 Sometimes a gentle, "Let's go sit on the porch," works better than, "What do you want to do?"
As a dementia caregiver, I've found that reducing the brain's workload often reduces frustration—for everyone.
Sometimes the kindest thing we can do isn't ask them to decide... it's making the decision a little easier. 💜

Apparently the tortillas skipped the packaging department and said, "Just tattoo the expiration date on me and send me out to the store." 😂🌮

I've seen a lot of things at the grocery store... but this is a first! 🤣

Well... this definitely got my attention today. 😳

It was announced that a big-box retailer been hit with a class action lawsuit over a popular "organic "protein powder brand, with allegations involving high contains "dangerous" levels of heavy metals, including lead, arsenic and cadmium.

It's honestly a good reminder that not everything on a store shelf is automatically the healthiest choice.

I'm so thankful I switched my protein shakes to The Wellness Store. Knowing I'm fueling my body with quality ingredients gives me so much more peace of mind. 💚
It makes me wonder... how many of us have never thought to ask what's actually in the products we use every day?
