The true meaning of Memorial Day! Less we forget

Back in the day when we used to sit out on our front porches, adults would fellowship, share news and children would play together in the yard. Neighbors were closer and more caring, communities were safer, families were stronger, and our country was a better place to grow up in. I would that we could return to gathering on our front porches again !

📢 MOSQUITO SPRAYING PLANNED FOR THIS WEEK 🗓
Horry County Mosquito Control will be conducting aerial spraying on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023. Spraying will occur one hour before sunset and one hour after sunset as weather permits.
Aerial spraying will be conducted in the zones listed below:

Gunter Lake Drive
Gunters Island Road
Jeno Drive
Mill Swamp Road
📍 ZONE 2
Johnson Shortcut Road
Carleita Circle
Everbreeze Lane
Wolf Trail

In the event of inclement weather, the make-up date for the above areas will be Thursday, Oct. 12, 2023.

The EPA approves the chemicals used for mosquito control spraying and poses minimal risk to humans or animals. Individuals with asthma or other respiratory illnesses may wish to stay indoors and close windows and doors during spraying. In addition, homegrown fruits and vegetables should be washed, scrubbed, and/or peeled before eating.

To help keep our local honeybee population safe, beekeepers are urged to contact Horry County Stormwater to identify the location of their colonies. You can submit the location of your hive(s) online here: www.horrycountysc.gov/departments/stormwater/no-spray-request/
