Warming up her facial tissue to release tension. WITH GLOVES ON!! I promise, I can still feel everything I need to feel, and the connection to my client comes from my heart and it is able to radiate through my gloves.

1. I wear gloves during the entire facial.

I have sensory issues, and after 13+ years of having products on my hands all day, every day, I simply can’t do it anymore. Some estheticians hate this. My clients don’t seem to mind, and I stay fully booked. 🤷‍♀️

2. I’m terrible at selling retail.

Not because I don’t believe in my products. I actually spend an absurd amount of time researching and curating what I carry. I just hate feeling salesy. Sometimes that means I miss opportunities to educate clients on what could genuinely help them.

3. I think acne is often more internal than external.

Topical skincare matters. A lot.

But after years of treating skin, I’ve found that many stubborn inflammatory patterns aren’t solved with a stronger serum or another active ingredient. Sometimes the conversation needs to go deeper.

I don’t just look at breakouts. I look for patterns.

Stress-driven patterns.
Hormonal patterns.
Systemic inflammatory patterns.

The skin may look similar, but the pattern underneath often isn’t.

Skin can be frustrating because it takes time. Time to see patterns. Time to know what’s helping. Time to know what’s not.

The skin is communicating. I’m listening.

Honestly hard to choose just 5, lol

Skin issues usually aren’t just “bad skin”

They’re patterns
and once you start looking at gut health, stress, inflammation, and how your body is functioning as a whole… it starts to make a lot more sense

Topicals help, but they’re not the full answer

If you’ve been feeling stuck, I made something to help with that

It’s a free Skin + Wellness Assessment that helps you start connecting what’s going on internally with what you’re seeing on your skin

Your skin is not unpredictable.
It’s just misunderstood.

Most people are trying to “fix” their skin from the outside,
without ever understanding what their body is actually signaling.

That’s why it feels like nothing works long term.

When you start looking at patterns instead of problems,
everything changes.

Same skin.
Different understanding.

Making sugar paste isn’t just heating sugar and hoping for the best.

The heat and lemon actually break the sugar down into simpler sugars, which is what keeps it from crystallizing back into something hard. That’s why it stays soft and stretchy instead of turning into candy.

That texture is what lets it pick up hair while being a lot gentler on the skin.

Simple ingredients, but there’s real chemistry behind it. 🍋

Happy Mother’s Day!

To the moms.
The stepmoms.
The grandmas.
The women raising babies, businesses, animals, plants, and everyone around them.

I hope you feel appreciated today and everyday! 🩷

I feel like I exist between two worlds.

The esthetics industry often approaches skin as a surface-level problem to correct, usually through more products, stronger actives, and aggressive treatments.

The functional health space focuses heavily on internal health and endless supplements, while often leaving the skin itself out of the conversation entirely.

But the skin is not separate from the rest of the body.

It reflects inflammation, barrier function, microbiome health, hormones, stress, immune signaling, and so much more.

I don’t believe you should have to choose between effective skincare and a deeper understanding of what may be contributing underneath it.

I believe the future is a more connected approach to skin health.

That’s the direction Bloom is evolving toward.

Less aggressive correction.
Less overconsumption.
More understanding the patterns behind inflammatory skin.

This is a more aligned direction for Bloom.

These are some of the functional labs I use when dealing with inflammatory skin conditions like acne, rosacea, and eczema. You don’t need all of them, all at once.

Most of the time, it’s not just an external issue.

GI-MAP → shows what’s happening in the gut, including bacterial imbalances, inflammation, digestion, and pathogens that can drive breakouts

SIBO Breath Test → identifies bacterial overgrowth in the small intestine, often linked to acne, rosacea, bloating, and poor nutrient absorption

DUTCH → looks at hormones and cortisol patterns, helping us understand hormone-driven acne and stress-related flare ups

Nutreval → evaluates nutrient status and cellular function, which directly impacts skin healing and barrier health

3x4 Genetics → shows how your body processes hormones, detox pathways, and inflammation so we can personalize your approach

OAT → gives deeper insight into metabolism, gut health, detoxification, and neurotransmitters

Inflammatory skin is often a reflection of what’s happening internally.

This is how we connect the dots and stop just treating symptoms and start addressing root causes.
