When you hear battle season it sounds kind of bad right? Like I’m fighting against my life. But a battle season happens when there is something worth stealing that the enemy wants for himself.

For me this has been a long season. An up and down season that seems to get more intense the more it goes. But it’s one of those things God has been preparing me for from the beginning.

God sees way farther ahead than we do. He knows who I am and who I will become. Sometimes it feels so stripping, and at times so lonely, if I could claw myself out I would in my own human feelings.

Nobody knows this but God has for several times over the last couple of years taken me to John 11 I have referred to this book in the Bible so many times I don’t even need a scripture look up to know what it is and where it is. But it is about his best friend Lazarus dying.

When Lazarus died Jesus obeyed the father’s will to go raise him from the dead.

I would be lying if I could actually tell you why he keeps taking me back to this scripture. At times I’ve even gotten frustrated and even mad at God because he takes me there but gives me no understanding…. Until I go through the trial. More and more he peels back this scripture to me and what He means.

What it looks like when we die to ourselves. And what it looks like when He chooses to raise us back to life. Every single time I think to myself, “okay, surely this is the last time. He will raise me up next time!” Here comes more death to my flesh. Here comes more death to my desires. Here comes more death to what I want. Sorry if you were expecting a feel good post! I hope this post is able to speak to someone in their season.

Have you ever had a season of life where you feel like as soon as your head peaks above the waters, you feel pushed back down by the waves? That is the kind of season I’m in. And in this season, when it gets bad; Really really bad, my flesh reacts in ways I’m not proud of. But then comes incredible breakthrough. Oh but the cost. How great the cost.
This gives me perspective into Jesus’ life. The great cost, the risk of those who lived close to him judging him, betraying him, but pressing on anyway. What an honor
