Rice water is not magic.

But it is one of the most underrated things you can add to your wash day routine.

Here is the balanced way to do it right.

1. Rinse 1 cup of rice. Soak in 2 cups of water for 24 hours.
2. Strain the water. Add 5 drops of lavender oil and pour into a spray bottle.
3. On wash day only. Spritz roots to ends, leave 15 minutes, rinse thoroughly, then deep condition.

Your hair should feel supported, not stiff. Stronger, not coated. Refreshed, not sour.

Store in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Fresh is always better.
Length comes from retention. Retention starts with reducing breakage. This helps with both.

A small lace tear is almost always fixable. In minutes. At home.

What you need: a needle and invisible thread, not brown or black thread

1. Lay the wig flat and smooth the lace.
2. Thread your needle and knot the end.
3. Start 2mm before the tear and stitch tiny figure-8 loops across the split.
4. Pull gently so the lace edges kiss together, not bunch.
5. Tie off, trim the excess, press flat.
6. Optional: dab lace tint over the seam to blend.

After shipping thousands of braided wigs, I say this to every client who owns a boho wig:
The curls will not maintain themselves.

Boho hair is stunning. It is also high maintenance.

Without the right routine, those soft curls go frizzy, tangled, and matted. And once they mat, there is no coming back.

🧴 Use the right product. Human hair boho needs leave-in conditioner and lightweight mousse. Synthetic boho needs products made for synthetic. Wrong product breaks down the curl pattern.

🪮 Never detangle dry. Mist first. Add moisture. Then work from the ends up. Dry detangling snaps and frizzes.

🌙 Protect at night. Two to four loose braids, satin bonnet or scarf. Friction is the enemy.

🔥 Put the heat down. Heat ruins synthetic curls permanently. It loosens human hair texture over time. Use steam or a light mist instead.
