What does your skincare routine look like?

Facial oil VS moisturizer…what’s the difference?

Contrary to popular belief oils are not HYDRATING. Many brands claim their oils are and even claim they contain ingredients like hyaluronic acid….🙄
But here’s the thing, oils CANNOT deliver moisture!
Have you ever tried mixing oil and water?
Instead of mixing what happes?
The water sinks to the bottom and the oil floats on top.
So if oil cannot absorb water, how can it deliver moisture retaining ingredients like hyaluronic acid??🤔🥱
Don’t be fooled, oil cannot deliver moisture to your skin!

However, oil can lock in moisture, just like it locks down the water when you try to mix the two!

Moisturizers deliver water molecules deep down into the skin, especially when they contain hyaluronic acid.

There’s no reason why you can’t use both moisturizer and facial oil, but replacing your moisturizer with an oil will not be beneficial for your skin.

If your skin is dry, you may want to opt for using both.
A moisturizer packed with hyaluronic acid and an oil applied on top to lock in your moisturizer so your skin can absorb the water molecules.

TIP:
moisturizers can absorb oil but oil cannot absorb moisturizer so when using an oil, use it as the last step in your skincare routine (except when using sunscreen!)
