There are many different things that can cause re**us diastasis. The most common cause is pregnancy, when the abdominal muscles spread apart to make room for the baby. Other factors that may cause re**us Diastasis include weight changes, and chronic pressure on the abdomen.
If you notice a pooch on your lower belly, underneath your belly button, that does not improve with exercise and diet this may be a sign that you have re**us Diastasis.
This abdominal separation is corrected during a tummy tuck, where Dr. Askari creates a corset like suture to bring the two walls back together.
