Jessica Sands (ERYT300; YACEP); Ayurveda student
I am a Hatha- centered yoga instructor with 16 years of experience teaching different methods of yoga in different places. I like to integrate a little Kundalini, a little Jivamukti, and slow moves for grounding. Increasingly, I work with the breath, meditation, and restorative work to calm the mind. Currently, I teach yoga at Crystal Heart Yoga in Corning and study Ayurveda with Dr. Pratibah Shah, Dr. Molly Culleton, Allison Morse, and through the Yoga Veda Institute.
My aim is to share what I learn with those who want to affirm their own unique healing abilities. Everybody has the ability and right to choose what is healthy for them at their current life stage and health situation. Specific movements, nutrients, types of rest and ways of thinking can be used to achieve the best health possible.
I give consultations and plans for the following:
• Yoga
• Abhyanga
• Personalized lifestyle remedies like nourishments and daily/seasonal routines for health.
My question-based consultations help me understand your feelings of your current and past health, so that we can explore daily and seasonal practices, nourishing foods and herbs as well as possible yoga or Abhyanga therapies. Often, I can direct you to an expert Ayurvedic doctor or herbalist for a professional consultation.
