I’ve always had a heart for kids who got bullied. Since I decided to open Salon On First seven years ago I wanted to use it to do as much good as possible. One of the ideas I had way back when was to try and somehow help against bullying. Being a Salon owner and knowing a lot of people, I hear a lot of things. It is so saddening and maddening the amount of bullying that happens in our country let alone in our beautiful city of Coronado. I think that you have to start somewhere to make a change no matter how small it is. One ripple can become huge in an ocean of water, but it has to start somewhere. Please join me in my mission to try to make an impact in regards to bullying. We all know that children who bully others are hurting, so that’s a sad part of it too. We don’t know what’s going on in their homes. But we cannot allow this to continue. We must take action. I decided to take action by going directly to the students because that’s where I think it has to happen. As much as the different organizations and the school districts try to do things and I praise them for it and congratulate them on it and hope they keep up their work, I think it has to start with the students themselves. If we can create an environment, we’re bullying is no longer accepted, and the bullying is not tolerated anymore and not allowed to keep doing it, because kids stand together and help each other , maybe we can foster more of an environment of love and care and support for each other. I’m very excited to try to make some change and I hope that you will join me. We are an amazing community. I thought of cheerleaders because the name itself cheerleader is somebody who leads cheer and that seems the opposite of bullying to me These wonderful Coronado high school cheerleaders have decided to join me and I hope that many many more students will as well.
