I’m just here to give my testimony.

For the past four years, I’ve been building my business while working 2–3 jobs, being a mother, a daughter, and showing up for my family every single day.

About six months ago, I put in my two weeks’ notice at a company I genuinely loved working for. Being a CNA is something I take great pride in. Taking care of the elderly has always been more than a job to me—it’s a passion. I love listening to their stories, caring for them, and making a difference in their lives.

I completed my two weeks the right way. I worked every shift I was scheduled for. Then, on my day off, I received a text saying I was terminated because I “didn’t complete my two weeks.”

When I asked how, I was told it was because I took time off. The same time off that was approved. The same time off I used PTO for. If it wasn’t allowed, why was it approved and paid out? Then the reason changed to me being late too often. But the reality is, I had already explained that I could no longer accommodate the schedule they needed because I was a mother taking care of my child. That’s why I responsibly requested to go PRN.

Instead of granting that request, they allowed me to finish my two weeks and then terminated me, making me ineligible to return. It felt like my name and reputation were being tarnished as if I had done something wrong to the residents or the facility, when all I did was try to do the right thing.

But today, six months later, I’m standing in my purpose.

For the last six months, I have worked completely for myself. No other job. Just my business.

So when people tell you that you can’t do it, show them that you can.

Keep going. Keep believing in yourself. Keep betting on yourself.

I am so thankful for my mother, who raised me to be strong, independent, powerful, and never afraid to use my voice.

Happy 6 months to me and my business. This is only the beginning. ❤️
