Hello my beauties! Oh how I’ve missed you all!
It’s been a long time since I’ve posted AND life has been an adventure!

Working with my husband has been challenging but very rewarding, I went to so many baseball games & track meets with our twins, and then we spent most of the summer going here & there.
One of our older boys moved to South Fork, CO and you know I had to spend time with him. My husband and I finished Jasper Mountain Lodge in November, that was a big project! I spent another week in South Fork with my son, and then we all turned around and spent a week at Christmas in Jasper, AR enjoying the fruits of our labor.

2023 was busy, busy to say the least and I’m so grateful I took the year off to do it all!

2024 has been a nice reprieve from the busyness of 2023…but the twins have started baseball practice and I’m gearing up to cheer them on every chance I get again this year. I plan to spend another week in South Fork, CO in February and who knows what adventures the rest of the year will find. The Lord has been oh, so good to me and I plan to cherish every moment I have with my family this year.

How do you know if your waxer is a good waxer?

-Do they wear gloves?
-Do they use a new stick each dip into the wax?
-Do they disinfect before and after your service?
-Do they use wax paper or a wax pad?

Although I am no longer taking clients, I am still very passionate about making sure you receive the best service and are being well taken care of! When walking into a wax appointment these things should be done and you should know that everything has been disinfected correctly!

When choosing what to moisturize your skin with it is important to watch how your skin reacts. Coconut oil can irritate sensitive skin and cause acne. In a recent study Dr. Craig Austin said this…

“When you use coconut oil, you're applying an oil to your skin in combination with bacteria and dead skin cells—the oil essentially aids in 'clogging' the pore. Coconut oil is one of the thicker oils, and the thicker the oil, the harder it is to get adequately absorbed by your skin, so it essentially sits on top of the dermis and forms a film over the pore. Bacteria and dead skin cells will then fester under the skin and cause your body to produce excess sebum, which can result in acne."

You can let your skin be the indicator of whether or not an oil works for you or not. If you do end up breaking out after using coconut oil, opt for oils with a comedogenic rating of 1, like rosehip or jojoba oil.

I am beyond grateful for the loyalty and support you have shown me as a BKAY Beauty Lab client. I have had so much fun getting to know each one of you! I am sad to say goodbye but also excited for what’s to come.

February 27th will be my last day to see clients. In this season of life, I am needing to devote my attention to my family. I will be working with my husband and spending time with our boys and engaging in their busy athletic schedules!
