She was truly in the moment and happy to be surrounded by the love of family and friends. Her inspiration was “fairy cowgirl” and I think we nailed it with this ethereal natural glam look! Happy Mother’s Day! Today I celebrate my mom Charle, my maternal grandmother Thelma and aunt Dixie, and the two not-so-little-anymore people who call me mom! My mom, grandmother and aunt taught me everything I know about style and beauty, and I love watching Ivy and Georgie grow into beautiful young women with their own distinct senses of style. Today I’m also celebrating the many mothers and daughters I have the privilege of working with in my wedding business. It’s always an honor getting to beautify mothers and daughters for such a monumental event, and it never fails to remind me how much our moms shape our lives. ❤️

I had the distinct pleasure of doing ‘s hair and makeup for the gala, and the even bigger pleasure of watching her perform with and ! She looked and sounded amazing. The best part of my job is the talented people I get to work with. And sometimes, the talented people who walk in the building behind me and insist on carrying my ridiculously heavy makeup kit up to the second floor! (I’m looking at you, - thanks again for the assist!)

It was such an incredible honor to do makeup for the amazing Bonnie Raitt at the 65th Grammys last Sunday! Bonnie won Song of the Year for “Just Like That”, a quiet stunner of a song she wrote and produced herself. She also won Grammys for Best Americana Performance and Best American Roots Song. Her moving rendition of “Songbird” with Sheryl Crow and Mick Fleetwood was a highlight of the show, and being behind the scenes with Bonnie and her awesome team all day was a highlight of my life!

I began working with Bonnie last year when she received Billboard’s Women in Music “Icon” award, and was privileged to continue doing her makeup for TV appearances promoting the release of her album. We all know Bonnie is a legendary singer, killer blues guitarist and committed activist, and I now know she’s also warm, deeply caring, whip smart and hysterically funny! She’s headed back out on tour - if you can catch one of her shows, you’ll never forget it.

Fun fact: before I became a makeup artist, I spent several years working in advertising and PR for Nordstrom in LA, Seattle Dallas, Nee Jersey and DC! So it was really fun to return to my roots today at Nordstrom Wlanut Creek to do hair and makeup for the lovely and fun ’s appearance at the the event!

Emily was a bridesmaid in my last wedding before the pandemic! Yesterday it was her turn to be the bride, and I was honored she wanted me to do her wedding hair and makeup! It was a treat to catch up with my lovely bride Mariah again too! Hair and makeup for the bride, bridesmaids and man of honor by with .

It was such a treat to work with this incredibly talented team of artists at this week! Everyone pitched in and helped each other to get our amazing keynote speakers ready for their big moments on stage! Freelance makeup artistry is often a solitary sport, so when we get to work together, support each other and share information it’s a real treat! Already looking forward to next year! ❤️
