☀️ 40 hours of mockups and design, 5 hours of construction, 200 hours of smocking, 200 hours of embroidery and beading, 6.5 hours of hand sewing the trim (and that’s only the jacket)☀️

I’m so glad that I was able to get these detail shots with ✨⚔️ because holy cow so much work when into this cosplay, and equally if not more glad I managed to keep the white jacket clean😅

I’ve always loved the idea of making Vex’s iconic white dragon armor, and this is one of those moments where I really surprise myself with the fact that I DID THAT!! Yall, this is now the most expensive thing I’ve ever made😂

A story in four parts😂🥹

Genuinely still in shock and filled with gratitude and love from last night. My third time competing at Rose City Comic Con and in a character who means the absolute world to me. Putting this cosplay together has been the most wonderful creative outlet, and the best way to expand on the skills I’ve been building for over twenty years as a sewist, and to develop so many new skills along the way. I fear I got the bug for leather working and hand sewn texturing 😂

To take home the Judges choice from beardlessprops is such an honor, and a huge shoutout to 🌿 Li 🌿 and Chad Van Wye as well, it was so fun to nerd out about my cosplay with you all.

I didn’t realize all the winners got a lovely little bag alongside the trophy, and yall CRITICAL ROLE WAS ONE OF THE SPONSORS?? So thank you to Critical Role as well as Famoré✂ Big Z Wholesale Fabric Store Arda Wigs | Cosplay • Drag • Fashion and Artist & Craftsman Supply for helping bring this competition to the con!

And of course, our Queen Laura Bailey Willingham for creating the character of all time, my best and most favorite girl, this cosplay still has so far to go and I’m so excited for the adventure to come

Something a little different today because the All For the Game brainrot is real; and it’s been forever since I did a costest. It’s funny, for a makeup designer who has taught dozens of men how to do makeup, it was really hard doing it on my own face😂 I feel like I have really soft femme features, ended up spending a lot of time about 5 feet away from the mirror finding the right shadows and I’m pretty happy with it!

Fun fact, the brush I used for foundation was not STAINED green; it had green makeup still IN it, so I had to powder with pink eye shadow to un-goblin myself
