It’s that time of year, time for markets! 🙌🏼

I’ve always loved markets, they’re so much to prepare for but the reward I get from interacting with customers, finding connections with new ones, and making new vendor besties just fills my cup!

If you saw my stories the other day, you know I’ve recently been evaluating what capacities I have and trying to create a more boundary filled life for myself (also so I don’t turn into an overwhelmed grump this season lol). That being said, I’m only doing a few markets this year and the first one is this Saturday!

Catch me vending at the Christmas Market at Santiam Christian School out in Adair Village this Saturday 11/15 (tomorrow) from 9 - 3 🥳

When I started my Instagram for Bushel & a Peck in 2016, I crafted stories and thoughts for you and left them here in each photograph post on my feed as a letter to you all. Not in a performative way but in a hope for connection. I know we don’t scroll feeds very much anymore but I hope to do at least something true to myself because I am tired of worrying what will “perform” or “do well”.

Also, let’s be completely honest: it’s hard to continually show up when you feel like you’ve failed to even show up in the first place.

I’ve been building Bushel & a Peck from the ground up since October of 2016, and even though that feels like it was just yesterday (I mean come on, it’s still 2005 right…? RIGHT?!), it’s been 9 years and I need to remember that haha.

Nine years of ebbs and flows, growth and slowness, it takes a toll not only on small businesses but the people growing them.

I have such a fondness and sweet love for B&P but in recent years, it’s just been so hard to do beyond the basic operations of running a business. My heart and soul is with people. I care about doing work that furthers growth in ourselves and in our communities. Because as some of my sweet friends say, “it’s all of us or none of us”. Meaning, we all deserve love, basic human rights, community, and someone in our corner.

So as I have grown, you’ve grown with me too and for that I am thankful. Thank you for being here, for showing up, for buying my products that I have put so much love into, for taking in my words when I say “you matter” and for sending them right back to me for when I have so desperately needed that reminder as well.

All in all to say, I am still here, still going, taking it day by day with this business that I love! Juggling and balancing all the things because I never want to quit on the things or people that I love.

Changes

Hi all! Due to shipping and raw ingredient increases, I will need to make the following changes:
1. Starting November 1st, Free Shipping will now be for all orders over $75
2. On January 1st, prices of all Bushel & a Peck products will increase.

These changes aren’t ideal by any means but I hope you can understand and know that I tried to hold off making them for as long as I could! ❤️

If I could take a snapshot of today's studio, it would look a bit like this: making products on top of making products 👩🏻‍🔬

As a maker + solo-entrepreneur, I LIVE for days where I get to tap into my right brain 🧠 to create and innovate. I don't have to show up to my making table looking like a full on boss CEO (let's be real, most of the time I am in sweats). The most important thing I try to bring into my studio everyday is gratefulness in my heart and the right mindset to create simple skin-loving products. 🙏🏼

Do I walk in with this mindset everyday? Definitely not - especially this past year, it's been a fight to choose it. But that is the point of it all, actively choosing the right mindset, dusting yourself off, and going at it again. 🙌🏼
