My client came in with layers of super dark color from keeping up with her grays, but she was ready for something softer and lower maintenance. I used a teasy balayage technique to keep everything blended and rooted while breaking through that old color.
We were able to lift her to a beautiful golden blonde and tone it into this rich caramel. The defined money piece gave her that brightness around her face, and the best part—we didn’t even need to go back in and cover her roots. Her natural speckles of gray blend right into the finished look.
Six months of grow-out and she was ready to bring that blonde back up ✨
Her grow-out was still nice and soft, but it was time for a full refresh. We added fresh blonde, dimensional lowlights, and this time a few subtle pops of copper to warm everything up and give her color a little something extra. 🤎🍂
She came in feeling dull, grown out, and ready for a refresh ✨
And it wasn’t just the roots on top—the underneath had grown out with a lot of depth too, and that darkness was showing through the surface and taking away from her overall brightness.
We went in with a full highlight, brightening her from top to bottom and bringing the lightness back throughout. Then instead of taking her super cool, we toned her into this gorgeous golden honey blonde that complements her complexion SO beautifully. 🍯✨
Bright, blended, warm, and expensive-looking. This tone was made for her.

By busy, I mean my client and I have very important things going on. She’s busy relaxing, catching me up on her life, and getting her hair done… and I’m busy making sure she leaves looking better than when she walked in. 😉💇🏼♀️
So if the phone rings while you’re in my chair… sorry, we’re both kinda busy. 📵✨
Growing out your natural gray doesn’t mean you have to just wait for all the old color to disappear. 🤍
We took about 5 inches off, which removed a ton of her old permanent color and highlights, then gave her a fresh A-line shape with soft layers for lots of movement.
Any highlights that were still hanging around were toned back to a soft, silvery shade so they blend beautifully with her natural gray pattern instead of fighting against it.

Ready for a blonde refresh?
This transformation was all about creating a brighter, softer blonde. She had no color on her hair and had the most beautiful base for this service. These teasy highlights l gave her created a seamless blend, beautiful brightness, and a grow-out that will stay looking intentional for longer.
Thinking about making a change? I’d love to help you find the blonde that’s right for you. Book your appointment through the link in my bio or send me a DM with any questions. 🤍
