Infused waters! I just started doing this. I’m loving it! 🍋🌱

Having fresh mint in the garden, and Fresh lemons from a friend made it super easy.

Lemon + mint + water all into the mason jar and voila! I peeled the lemon as to not get the pithy flavor from the rind soaking in there. And slid the jar into the fridge for a few hours.

Refreshing, healthy, and good for me. Do you have an favorite flavors? If so please share, I want to do this through the summer and want to mix it up! ❤️✨

What is your current hair status?

💁🏻‍♀️I just cut my own hair, so I'm good!

📆Counting down the days until I get to see you...

😭I 𝗡𝗘𝗘𝗗 to see you!!! Wait till you see what I did to my hair.

🤔Uh, when was the last time I had my hair done?

No matter which status you are in, I am here for you.

Which emoji are you?

We are in this together and I miss all of you so much! It’s going to be a party at the salon, so get ready!!!❤️✨

Hi my loves!! How are you feeling today? What have you been doing?

Things I have been doing more of while on #quarantine:

🌱 Gardening
🦋 Time outside appreciating nature
🐶 Time with my pup
🍞 Baking
🧘🏼‍♀️ Yoga
🏃🏼‍♀️ Walking
🥂 Drinking more wine (🤷‍♀️ sorry I’m not sorry)

What have you guys been doing? I need some new ideas! ❤️✨

[05/22/20]   Who has cut their hair for the first time in their life in the last 2 weeks?

At home hair mask for some self care.

✨At home deep conditioning treatment✨

Grab your favorite deep conditioner and do a mask with me!

Make sure you apply in sections to assure saturation to all the hair. You don’t want so much product that it’s dripping, but apply a decent amount, and work it into each section.

Then put your hair up in a clip, and chill out for a bit.

After, wash, condition and style as usual.

I am using Innersense Organic Beauty hydrating hair masque right now, and loving it! If you want a new deep conditioner, click here ( to grab this one!

I am going to be getting together some really fun home self hair care kits, stay tuned for details on those! ❤️✨

While I love to cook, my boyfriend is actually the one who does most of the cooking in our house.

At the beginning we power struggled over this, and a few years in I had a thought, “if I just let him take this one, I can cook only when I feel like it!” Win win, and it works!

Not only am I cooking (mostly baking) more now while I have more time, but I am also taking more time to eat. I am taking more time to enjoy and thank my food.

It’s been very nice, considering I usually eat 75% of my meals standing in the break room (which is one of the most fun places on earth, so don’t feel bad about it). The slow down has been nice.

What are you guys letting yourself slow down for? ❤️✨

Have you ever spent a ton of time curling your hair and it just goes flat?

Your like, what the heck? 😡 I did everything my stylist told me to do!!!

What size curling iron are you using?

𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐚𝐢𝐫 🙋🏻‍♀️

𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐮𝐦 𝐇𝐚𝐢𝐫 🙋🏻‍♀️

𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐮𝐦 𝐇𝐚𝐢𝐫 🙋🏻‍♀️

Want to know which curling iron you should be using? I would be happy to tell you! Leave me a comment and let's chat... ❤️✨

You know that feeling when you just love how your hair looks in the front, but the back is getting on your last nerve?

Your hair looked amazing yesterday and then you woke up and it's like it had a growth spurt overnight!

So, why does it seem like it grows faster in the back than the front?

☆ When you style your hair, you focus more on the front than the back. Therefore, the front gets most of the heat. Excess heat can cause split ends and breakage, so be careful!

☆ There is more hair in the back than the front. More hair, creates more weight which causes the hair to lay more flat giving you the illusion that it is longer.

☆ Hair texture can play a role as well. Some people have curlier hair in the front than they do in the back.

How much time do you spend on the front of your hair vs the back? Comment below, inquiring minds want to know! 😉❤️✨

Have we talked about my crumb topping recently? I didn’t think so! Let me tell you about it.

This stuff is my #1 easy go to homemade dessert situation.

It’s about 5 ingredients, I make it and then store it in the freezer for months. I pull it out a few times a month (maybe a few times a week now 😹😂😹) to throw together this quick dessert.

It takes about 30-50 minutes to bake, but only about 3-5 minutes to put together once the topping is put together in the freezer.

It goes like this ...

😋 Chop up fruit of your choice: apples, berries, peaches, nectarines, even frozen berries or peaches work well.

😋 Put fruit in ramekin that is oven safe. Toss with a little lemon juice and cinnamon.

😋 Top with crumb topping.

😋 Bake at 350 for 30-50 minutes. When the fruit begins to bubble up the side it’s done.

Top with ice cream and whipped cream for the ultimate! Want my crumb topping recipe? Hit me up! ❤️✨

You can keep your hair looking good at home during a pandemic. Is it the most ideal? No, but neither is a pandemic. 🤷‍♀️

These times are challenging for all of us, in all kinds of ways. We have to work together. We are in this for the health of everyone.

Not you, not me, all of us.

Here are some things you can do:

🕘 Do you regularly get grey roots covered? Contact your stylist, I bet they will get you an at home color kit, or give you a solution.

🕘 Do you get highlights? Use a small amount of a blonde root cover, and add a headband or bandanna. You have dug them out to use as masks anyway. 🤷‍♀️

🕘 Long bangs? Again, contact your stylist (or me if you don’t have one) and let’s do a video chat bang trim together.

🕘 Too long? Get creative with up-do’s and ponytails. Too short for that? Grab some bobby pins!

You are not alone, I will see you so soon! Do you have any questions for me? ❤️✨

Happy happy Mother’s Day to all the moms! All the kinds of moms!

Special shout out to my amazing mom and sister! I am so grateful I get to do life with these two. I love love love you!! ❤️😘❤️🦋✨

Want to know why artificially blonde hair holds and showcases the best curls?

Sorry brunettes and red heads, you know I love you, but this is fact.

All that extra dimension and that bit of texture that that occurs when a clients hair is lightened gives way to curls that last longer and look sexier.

Wish you could have some of that same texture that blondes get to enjoy?

Here are a few tips to add texture to your hair using products:

✨ Spray a salt spray in your hair before drying it.
✨ After it’s dry, before curling, spray in a dry shampoo or dry texture spray.
✨ Before curling each horseshoe section, spray the whole section with a working hairspray (not a super hard spray).

Do you have questions about curls?? Shoot them my way! I am here to help you. ❤️✨

Applesauce??! I know what you are thinking.

It’s for kids. It’s gross. It’s boring.

Not if you make it yourself! Have extra apples laying around about to go bad? I dare you to try this.

Use apples, throw in some berries if you have them laying around. A secret ingredient my mom uses sometimes is dried cherries.

Sneak just a small handful of dried cherries into this and it’s next level!

Wanna know exactly how I made it? I’ll tell you if you ask! ❤️✨

Happy Happy Cinco do Mayo my loves!!

My neighbors tell me that all the hair shears, clippers, and the like are sold out at every CVS and target in town.

We are all having hair struggles right now, but the guys are feeling this one big time.

Yeah we have roots, but they are used to getting cleaned up every 2-5 weeks (yes, some come in every 2 and 3 weeks for clean ups)! That could be minus 3 cuts at this point.

Here are a few quick tips if you need to clean yourself up:

🙌 Hold your back hairline with one hand, if you only shave what hair is under your hand, you can successfully trim that stubble back there. BE SURE to look in a mirror and be sure your secured hand is safely keeping the hair you want to keep.

🙌 Use a small trimmer to clean up around your ears, not the big bulky clippers, that just makes it harder. Hold down your ear!

🙌 Air on the side of too long even when using guards, you can always go shorter.

🙌 Shave it off and start over if you mess up, who knows how long you will be home for anyway. 😹😂😹

Do you need any male grooming tips? If so, shoot! ❤️✨

Shampooing your hair. Something that is so simple, BUT if you are doing it wrong, you could have problems.

✨ Do shampoo your scalp.

✨ Do use your fingers to manually manipulate the scalp.

✨ Do spend at least 30-60 seconds doing this. The less frequent you wash, the more time you can take.

✨ Don’t wash only the ends of your long hair.

✨ Don’t superficially wipe the shampoo on the outside of a mound of hair, then rinse, work that stuff into your scalp.

✨ Don’t use a handful of product.

I hope you are having a great day guys! Let me know if this is helpful. Also, if you are running low on shampoo, conditioner, or styling products, I can help you get them shipped right to your door, from the distribution center! Please reach out if you need anything! ❤️✨

Have you ever longed for a stylist and salon culture you connect with?⠀
A peaceful, calm environment that has a passion for clean beauty? ⠀
A space where creativity, authenticity, and respect for all people collide? ⠀
A place you could go to get taken care of, feel beautiful, and get a little space from the world all in a tree house setting? ⠀
I can't wait until I can see you again at Magnolia Organic Salon, I got you covered my love! If you need ANY hair help while stuck at home, please ask, I got you covered there too!❤️✨

My beautiful Sally. 🤍⠀
One of my amazing clients that I am missing so dearly. Sally has a huge heart, and a kind soul and I love our time together.⠀
We have both been through some real hard life stuff, and we can share our lessons with each other and grow and learn together.⠀
This is my career, but also my passion. Passion includes a lot of heart. Part of the reasons why it is my passion is because of these connections. That is the real pure gold.⠀
What are your passions? Are you doing any of them while at home? I would love to hear about it!! ❤️✨

I took this photo the last week I got to be in the salon, before this fiasco began. ⠀

Baking has been a great stress reliever the past few weeks, and I have made 3 more batches of brownies!

I personally think I have the best recipes for both of these things: ⠀

😋 Amazing glutenFUL regular brownies. ⠀

And ⠀

😋 Amazing glutenFREE brownie bites. ⠀

Would you like the recipes? Shoot me a comment or a DM and I’ll send them over to you. Happy baking, I can’t wait to see you all in the salon! ❤️✨

Air drying curly or wavy hair! This is my go to method of styling 99% of the time.

It is easy, easy on your hair, takes minimal time, and you can always enhance to improve the look.

✨ First wash and condition
✨ Use your fingers to place hair in the right areas around your head
✨ Apply product correctly!
✨ Lots of scrunching and finger styling
✨ Chill out while it dries, without touching it!
✨ Fluff and scrunch out any cast
✨ Add some dry shampoo or dry texture spray for more lift and volume
✨ Netflix & chill (#quarantine)

That’s basically it! The longest time in the whole process is waiting for it to dry. Feel free to use a diffuser also, that will give you more volume. I am just usually pretty lazy.

Do you have questions? Do you need help? I’m here for you! Ask away! ❤️✨

Oh beautiful waves, how I miss thee!

Let’s play a game!

How are you feeling about your hair?

🙌 I needed it cut the week before lock down and I feel like a hippie.

🙌 I would have had it cut under regular circumstances, but I am enjoying the longer length for now.

🙌 I have cut it twice myself already.

🙌 I am just wearing a hat/pony tail/top knot.

I will admit, most days I’m pulling a number 4. Tell me about you! ❤️✨

Are any of you using root camouflage sprays?

Are you having luck or trouble?

They can be tricky. Here are a few tips to remember when using a root spray:

👊 If you are using an aerosol, getting the correct distance from your roots before spraying is crucial. You want the nozzle about 2-4 inches away from your roots. Move your hand in a slow, fluid motion when spraying, so you don’t get it all in one dark spot.

👊 If you are using a mascara wand, brush lightly on the hair just at the part and around your hairline.

👊 Less is usually more, the goal it to camouflage your roots, not densely cover them.

If you have never heard of camouflaging root sprays, and you are feeling grey, reach out to me and I’ll explain all about it!

Would you guys like me to post a video on this? ❤️✨

Don’t touch up your own greys, I repeat: Do Not Touch Up Your Own Greys!

That boxed color in the hair care isle at target IS NOT your friend.

And remember this ... if/when your roots turn orange instead of brown or blonde ... there is nobody to help you until I am back in the salon!

A color correction always takes more money and time then a root touch up.

It’s just not worth the risk. Instead, check out Mineral Fusion root concealer! You can order it on amazon and I can help you learn how to apply it.

Reach out with any questions, I am here to help you through this. ❤️✨

How can I help you while you are away from the salon? 🤗

Do you need hair care tips?

Tips to keep the greys in check?

Styling tutorials?

Ways to not get annoyed at your coworkers (aka housemates 😹😂😹)?

The sky is the limit! How can I help you? ❤️✨

Are you caffeinated enough, really?

If you find yourself in need of coffee while you are stuck at home, check out my good friends local business ThunderKing Coffee Co.!

The coffee is amazing! ❤️✨

Have you gotten outside today?

I have been leaning hard into walking these last few weeks, just a quick 15 minutes can totally reset my day.

What have you been doing to support yourself these last few weeks? I would love to hear about it! We can all learn and grow together! ❤️✨

Going from dark red, to light blonde, is not an easy task ... 🙌

This is a beautiful step 1 towards her transition.

This kind of change takes dedication and time from the stylist and the guest.

When making a drastic change like this, it is crucial to be good to your hair. Some must do’s are:

❤️ Deep conditioning treatments regularly. Weekly or twice weekly.

❤️ Be gently when combing when it’s wet. When the hair is fragile, combing or brushing it aggressively when wet can cause it to break.

❤️ Keep heat off of it as much as you can.

Hair is already dead, so you can’t “bring it back to life”. But by treating it well, it can bounce back! ❤️✨
