GT’s Equine Services

4th ride on my c**t TF Wagon Master. He’s got the smoothest gates and is a fast learner, really liking this guy!

What if I told you this difference was made in just 30 days!?!

Faye is a QH mare that was born blind in her right eye and was given to my clients. Alongside her getting a nutritional overhaul she has had a lot to learn this past month. Being tied, leading safely, desensitizing, groundwork and she is especially dangerous when it comes to her feet being handled. She has made so much progress but has a lot to learn and unlearn.

Her blindness is not something I view as an excuse for bad behavior but it is something that obviously affects her and makes it harder for her to trust and relax. Her balance is unsteady and she is more reactive. This does not mean however that she can be allowed to be disrespectful or aggressive to people. The reason I bring this up is I often hear owners making excuses for their animals behavior due to their past or a disability. Taking it into account is important. Allowing it to dictate you and your animals interactions and using it as a crutch is only doing a disservice.

I encourage you to look past what you might deem as a problem or limitation, you just might find that you and your horse are far more capable than you are giving them credit for. And if you are struggling in this area feel free to give GT’s Equine Services a call, I’m pretty good at pushing boundaries.

Since she’s never had a post of her own I had to get professional pictures done to show her off! Properly introducing my beautiful solid APHA mare, Special Persuasion aka Eve.

I bought Eve about three years ago and she’s just been the sweetest and most attentive mom around! She’s had three babies here at GT’s Equine Services with the oldest a late two year old being started under saddle with big plans, a late yearling who has been sold as a futurity prospect, and her youngest Shalom, who is pictured with her.

Eve unfortunately had an injury that stopped her from proving herself in the show pen but her papers are the definition of stacked papers! To name a few and share some insight into her lineage we have:

Special Effort, a major racehorse. He went 13 wins from 14 starts and earned about $1.22 million. He won the Kansas Futurity, Rainbow Futurity and All American Futurity in 1981. He was also an AQHA World Champion and was inducted into the AQHA Hall of Fame.

His son Bully Bullion: 28 starts, 10 wins, 8 seconds, 4 thirds with $225,384 in earnings. Winner of the All American Gold Cup (G1). Winner of the Oklahoma Derby. Winner of the Mr Jet Moore Stakes. 1988 AQHA Champion Aged Stallion. As a sire, his offspring earned roughly $8.9 million in Quarter Horse racing.

Cherokee Bully, the actual sire of Special Persuasion, is a Paint by Bully Bullion and out of AC Serenity by Cherokee Indian. Cherokee Indian was an APHA racing champion: 17 starts, 10 wins, 5 seconds, 2 thirds. Speed Index of 95. About $13,361 in race earnings and the 1980 APHA Champion Running Horse.

Mr Eye Opener a Quarter Horse racehorse: 15 starts, 9 wins, 2 seconds, 1 third, 4 fourths with $202,978 in earnings. SI 106. Winner of the West Texas Futurity (G1). Winner of the Speedhorse Gold/Silver Cup Sprint Futurity. 2nd in the Rainbow Futurity (G1). 3rd in the Kansas Futurity (G1)S
And as a sire, Mr Eye Opener’s offspring accumulated more than $28 million in race earnings, and he became one of the breed's leading sires and broodmare sires.

His sire Dash for Cash was one of the most influential QH racing stallions with total career earnings of $507,688 with 25 starts. 21 firsts, 3 seconds, 0 thirds.

Eve has proven herself to be above all the best mom and the negative stereotypes of a red mare have never applied to her. I’m very proud to own such a sweet natured mare who produces foals with solid conformations, sweet dispositions, athleticism, and of course flashy!

If you’ve made it this far who would you like to see this cool mare crossed with? 👀

Eve and Shalom enjoying their cuddles from clients! Hard to tell who enjoys it more☺️

Will never not love these views 🧡🩷💛

A lot has changed since the last time I showed at Athens and but I still have my paints 😉🥰!

Had a great time at Athens Saddle Clubs show today. Fun to see it revamped with the help of so many great people! Me and Sheena had the honor of presenting the flag before the show started. Had to make it fun by going bridle-less of course!🇺🇸

Go as long as you can, and then take another step.

First day of fall got us feeling like…!

Shalom got her first photo shoot done with RC Photography ! She’s quite the model.

Though horses are the main attraction here sometimes my other littler creatures work their way into the spotlight. My beloved cat Pepper was definitely a highlight and loved cuddles from clients, helping me warm up my hands in the winter, walking with me to turnout horses, and being just the best cat ever!
Unfortunately Peppers age finally caught up to him and I had to say goodbye last Thursday. The barn is not the same without him.
I was so blessed and excited to see that my client got the cutest picture of her son and Pepper just the week before! Rest in peace my dear friend.
