I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who stopped by, sent a message, brought a card, or gave a gift to celebrate my retirement. It truly meant so much to me.

Seeing so many familiar faces and feeling all the love and support after 25 years behind the chair made the day incredibly special. I am so grateful for the friendships, memories, and relationships that have come from being part of this community.

Thank you all for making my last day so meaningful. I will cherish it always.

This March we’re celebrating the heart behind Next Generation Family Hair Salon — our founder, Monika!

Monika opened NG Salon on March 6, 2001. It began as a children’s salon, but it didn’t take long for it to grow into a place where the whole family came together for haircuts and connection. The very first salon was in the building to the far right of Good Things Donuts — with a snow cone stand in between. The kids loved celebrating their fresh cuts with a sweet treat afterward.

In 2004, Monika purchased a brick house off HWY 85, renovated it with vision and heart, and that’s where the salon still welcomes families today. For several years, NG Salon also had a second location in Milligan.

Originally from Germany, Monika later became a proud citizen of the United States. She loves traveling, the beach, camping, booking unique Airbnbs, spending time with her kids, grandchildren, friends and beloved dog Rosie…. And you might spot her at LaRumbas with a margarita in hand.

What she treasures most? The relationships built through the years behind the chair. 💛
