I passed my Senior Cosmetology Exam on the FIRST try 🎓✨
So here’s exactly what I studied because I know how overwhelming it can feel trying to figure out WHAT actually matters.
A lot of people focus only on hair… but the exam is HEAVY on:
• Safety + sanitation
• Infection control
• Rules & regulations
• Blood exposure procedures
• EPA disinfectants
• SDS/MSDS sheets
• Nail knowledge
• Hair Cutting
My trichology background definitely helped me with the hair/scalp questions, but honestly? Repetition and practice questions helped me the MOST.

Are Your Products Breaking Your Hair? Here’s Why and What You Can Do!
Have you noticed breakage or damage to your hair lately? Your products might be the culprit, especially if you have low porosity hair.
Low porosity hair requires special care, as it tends to accumulate product buildup more easily. When there’s too much product weighing down your strands, it can lead to breakage and damage over time.
Here’s why it happens: The natural structure of low porosity hair makes it harder for products to pe*****te and moisturize the strands effectively. As a result, product residue builds up, causing your hair to become brittle and prone to breakage.
But don’t worry! There’s a simple solution: shampooing more frequently. Washing your hair with a clarifying shampoo helps to remove buildup and prevent breakage. Additionally, rinsing and shampooing with hot water can help open the cuticle of your hair, allowing it to absorb product and moisture more effectively.
So, if you have low porosity hair, make sure to give it the extra attention it needs. With the right care and products, you can keep your locks healthy, strong, and beautiful!

My favorite product to twist with is foam.
My two favorites are Nairobi and It’s Natural Styling foam
Twisting with foam helps provide lightweight hold and definition to your twists without leaving them feeling heavy or greasy. It also adds moisture to your hair, making the twists more pliable and less prone to frizz. Additionally, foam can help elongate the twists, giving them a smoother appearance.
