I am a certified aromatherapist with over 10 years experience. My journey with essential oils has helped me mentally and physically. I originally looked to the use of essential oils to help with anxiety. As I continued on my journey I became fascinated how the chemistry of plants contain different properties to help in a variety of ways. I wanted and needed to learn more so I studied with Aromatic Studies and am certified in the Aroma 101 Foundations, Aroma 201: Advanced Aromatherapy and Organic Body Care Products courses. I am also a member of NAHA- National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy whose mission is to advance the knowledge of the medicinal use of aromatic plants and essential oils to its fullest extent and to support aromatherapy as a truly holistic professional art and science. The more I worked with essential oils, the more I learned how synthetic fragrances are harmful to the respiratory system and have no therapeutic value what so ever. This is where I really dove in. I began to make my own cleaning supplies for home with essential oils and natural ingredients. I looked at my soap, shower gel, candles and stopped using commercially produced items. I learned how to make soap and candles and skin care products. Here I am with Heart n Soul Aromas where I really put my heart and soul into everything I create. My vision is to create with the seasons and to focus on soaps, candles and essentials with pure essential oils and natural ingredients that are good for your body and your home. Hello from North Carolina! 🌿
It was a long, rainy solo journey from Maryland this morning, but I made it safe and sound.
I’m in the beautiful area of Hendersonville, and there is something so magical about this place. ✨ I’m here to attend an aromatherapy conference, and I’m so excited!
Of course, I made it all the way here before realizing I forgot my laptop, Kindle, and phone charger. 😂 So apparently I’ll be embracing a little more unplugged time than planned!
I’ll share more of this beautiful scenery as my time here goes on. 💚

🍂 A Season of Shifting 🍂
Today is the last official day of summer.
Tomorrow, at 8:05 PM EDT, we arrive at the Autumn Equinox—a moment of transition, when the balance of light and dark begins to shift and nature starts its beautiful movement inward.
And if we pause long enough to notice, we may find that something is shifting within us, too.
What is coming to completion?
What are you ready to release?
What are you choosing to carry with you into the next season?
I’ve been reflecting on how nature reminds us that change doesn’t have to be rushed. The trees don’t cling to every leaf. They let go when the time is right.
There is wisdom in that. 🍂
Lately, I’ve been reaching for my Pearl of Wisdom Aroma to Go, a blend of Black Spruce, Orange, and Jasmine essential oils. It has become a comforting aromatic companion as I move through this season of transition.
Perhaps this is a beautiful time to find an aroma, ritual, or blend that supports you—something that invites you to pause, breathe, reflect, and be present with where you are.

There are now six to choose from, and each one has its own intention and personality. Every Aroma To Go is made with an essential oil blend created by me and diluted in jojoba oil, making them easy to take with you wherever you go.

🌿 A Little Jojoba Oil Education! 🌿
Jojoba — Simmondsia chinensis
Here’s a fun fact: Did you know jojoba “oil” isn’t actually an oil?
Jojoba comes from a seed—not a nut at all! It grows in hot, dry, arid climates and is incredibly well adapted to those conditions.
And when the seeds are expeller pressed, the result is technically a liquid wax, rather than a traditional plant oil. Pretty cool, right? 😉
So why do I love jojoba so much?
✨ Skin friendly — Jojoba’s unique wax esters have similarities to components of our skin’s natural sebum, making it a lovely ingredient for skincare formulations.
✨ Versatile — Jojoba can be a wonderful choice for many different skin types, including dry, normal, oily, acne-prone, and sensitive skin, and is generally well tolerated.
✨ Long shelf life — Jojoba is remarkably stable and resistant to oxidation compared to many other plant oils.
✨ A wonderful carrier — All of these qualities make jojoba one of my go-to carrier oils when I’m creating products.
As a certified aromatherapist with Heart n’ Soul Aromas, I love learning about the individual characteristics of the botanical oils I work with. It’s not just about making something smell wonderful—it’s about understanding the ingredients and thoughtfully choosing what goes into the products I create. 🌿💚
So there you have it: seed, not nut…and technically a liquid wax, not an oil! 😉🌿
