“At first many of my friends and family wondered where I had ‘gone.’ Soon, though, the people who mattered ‘found’ me.” Last week, I went through an incredibly rough, yet eventually reflective, day.

Then a few days ago, I abruptly and without explanation shut down my personal Facebook profile. I’m still here and, not only am I okay and doing well, that decision has been one of the best I’ve made in a while.

If you’re curious what prompted that, just google “parasocial relationships” and combine that with my personal energy which tends to be very empathetic and you’ll begin to understand why I made that decision. In short, social media forces us all to be in parasocial relationships with everything in our newsfeed without regard to the deeply human desire to connect deeper by receiving feedback and nonverbal cues in real time.

I look forward to connecting more presently with my family and friends in real life and clients behind the chair. My work as a hairstylist forces me to be very much in the present moment and I feel that’s one of the reasons why I love it so much! 💖

I used to pluck the most haute couture magazines from the shelves like W Magazine, Vogue, Vogue France, and anything else with deliciously unique fashion, makeup, and hair. Then I’d throw in a few Car & Driver and Auto Trader issues too to get my horsepower and auto design fix. 🫶🏼

In search of a local hair model for keratin or thread-less weft extension service. Ideal candidate has at least shoulder-length hair already and is looking to add some length and dimension. Purpose will be for promotional material so a model release is required. You’ll get special pricing on this service in exchange for use of video/photos of before, after, and filming while the service is being done!
