"Years ago, my husband and I got a freeze dryer to preserve food and make backpacking meals, but it quickly turned into sharing novelty treats with others.

When I was a kid, I remember my family visiting the Air & Space museum - my little sister and I would get the gift shop astronaut ice cream treats and it was such a unique tasting experience! Hence the name AstroSnax

My goal is to share that unique “taste of space” by providing quality freeze dried snacks with fun space-themed branding."

This post was harder to write than I thought it would be - the 2026 NWI Comic-Con was our final show.

I want to start by saying thank you to everyone for attending this show. Thank you to all our VIP Guests, Exhibitors, Cosplay Judges and all of our helpers and volunteers. We could never pull off these events without all of you!

When I started this show back in 2014… Guardians of the Galaxy and Amazing Spider-Man 2 were playing in the movie theaters. I didn’t have any grey hair and my kids were still in grade school - they have both graduated college now.

Back in 2014 I had a vision - I wanted to bring a family-friendly, affordable comic book convention to Northwest Indiana - and I did just that!

Back in 2014 I told my wife Kelly that I would run the NWI Comic-Con for 10 years. Here we are on year 12.

But just like that favorite comic book series you looked forward to reading every other week or that TV show you really loved to binge. The NWI Comic-Con lasted as a 12 issue run, or for 12 Fantastic seasons!!!

The 2026 show was our series finale. This was the last NWI Comic-Con. All good things come to an end.

We are eternally grateful for all of the friendships we made, the fan base we built, the memories we created and the great times we all had together.

We had a good run! It’s now time for us to hang up our capes.

Thank you to everyone who supported us behind the scenes.
Onward and upward as we write new chapters in our book of life.
