Gather ‘round: it’s a celebration of Black liberation!! Happy Black History Month! 🤟🏾

I’m dedicating this space to the uplifting and honoring of Black people & the work of their hearts. From art and literature to music and education, there’s so much to learn from, meditate on, & find encouragement in... and with the year we’ve all just had, we could surely use a little bit more of that. ✨

To my non-Black friends: first time celebrating? I won’t be doing too much educating this month (it’s a party over here), but here’s a tip: once a day, find a way to immerse yourself in Black culture for a bit. This could look like:

🖤 Watching films that center Black joy and liberation
🖤 Reading an article that tackles current issues in the community
🖤 Reading children’s books by Black authors to your kids

The idea isn’t to “try-on Black culture” for 28 days, but to form a habit of learning from, honoring, and celebrating the beauty of Black culture year-round!

This is how empathy is cultivated and hearts are changed- when we take the time to learn about & honor each other. No better time than the present.
