We just celebrated our 5-year anniversary at the shop! Thank you all for being a part of our growing business.

Our dear friend Gina has recently been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). As she begins this new and uncertain chapter, we want her to know she is not facing it alone. This post is meant to share where she is in her journey, what lies ahead, and how our community can help.

About Gina
Gina has been a familiar and friendly face in Crystal River, where she has worked as a barber for over 15 years. She has spent her career serving others, listening, laughing, and building real connections. Now, Gina needs a little help from the very community she’s always been there for.

Gina’s Treatment Journey
Gina is currently under the care of a neurologist and will soon begin Ocrevus (ocrelizumab) infusion treatments for MS.

Her first infusion is starting soon

A second dose is scheduled in about two weeks after her first

Another MRI of her back is planned to check for lesions

Physical therapy may also be needed as part of her recovery

While we don’t yet know all the side effects, her neurologist has shared that many people experience positive results with this treatment. We are all hopeful the medication will work well for her.

What We’re Hoping For:
That the treatment is effective

That her symptoms improve or stabilize

That she regains strength and comfort

That we can see her within the next three months, healthier and healing

Most of all, we hope Gina continues to feel surrounded by love, encouragement, and support.

How You Can Help
Medical treatments can be costly, and we’re unsure how much of Gina’s care will be covered by insurance. Any support—big or small—means so much.
