Here's a few things we've done in the first class you'd take in the cosmetology pathway, Introduction to Personal Care Services class, this semester....

We created vision boards with mission statements and discussed goals so we can manifest what we want in our futures.

We also create a life size human body project and participated in rotation stations to better learn about the anatomy and physiology chapter!

Anything BUT hair challenge at Salon 1542!

Students were given a bald mannequin and we're told to create a hair and makeup look using anything but hair for the style. They did an amazing job!

Vote for your favorite look until Sunday. Winner will be announced next week!

Today we had our first guest speaker speaker of the year, Ms. Kim Gordon. Who came to give us a Matrix color class, so student could understand the color line we carry at West Salon 1542 better when formulating for clients!

The students were so excited to learn from Ms. Kim today and they can't wait for her to come back to teach them how to use and sell the new Matrix products we just got in for our retail shelves!

Kendall worked hard to decorate our hallway display for Halloween so we're ready when we get back from fall break! She did such a great job! We even picked some of our favorite products to try! 🎃 🕷🦇

Today licensing students picked a cut and highlighted color look from the internet to re-create. They have been learning foil placement and how it affects the outcome of the look. They're also learning various foil application techniques which they had to figure out which to use after choosing their pictures.

Today was payday at Salon 1542!

Students earn beauty bucks daily and can earn bonuses or fines depending on their choices.

The payroll dept added up pay and wrote out checks to their peers. Then they added their checks to their bank registers to get ready to pay rent for their seat in class on the 1st! Students also will pay insurance and utilities which are due later in the month.
