I’m going to throw this out there but I need to do 15 sets of nails and the deal is for $50. Nail art no nail art. I need to do 15 sets by Monday and if u schedule with me and r one of those 15 u get $10 off ur next nail service or u can give that $10 to someone else if wanted to. I will have printed out $10 off stubs for the people that r of the 15 I need. I need this desperately to pay my rent and not get kicked out so if u have the money to help me and support me I will not leave u disappointed. They will b the BEST nails u will ever get by me. HAIRDRESSERS ABSORB A LOT OF STORIES AND EMOTIONS…. . And it’s tough sometimes 🥺 . Listening to people’s troubles, problems and sometimes traumas or deep sadness can really take its toll😔 . I’ve been both a hairdresser and a psychotherapist…. . So when I hear people say hairdressers are unpaid therapists, I have issues with this . To think that hairdressing is so easy that hairdressers have the capacity to be therapists on top is insulting for one! . Secondly, as a psychotherapist I made an agreement that people could come and tell me their problems… . However as a hairdresser I did not sign up for that…but it happened anyway😬 . And unlike when I was a therapist, I hadn’t received any training or guidance on how to cope🤔 . I hear hairdressers say sometimes ‘I’m thinking of doing a counselling course so I can help my clients’….and this actually always makes me feel sad 😔 . I think it’s running in the wrong direction🛑 . I don’t think hairdressers should be doing more on top of an already highly skilled job that requires precision work! . Now, before anybody starts jumping in the comments telling me I’m mean😉… . I am well aware there is a need for empathy, and that some clients will always offload on their hairdresser . And that sometimes it’s clients we’ve known for years, that we are very fond of who are just having a tough time . But I believe hairdressers don’t need counselling skills or to solve clients problems . What hairdressers do need, is to learn how to protect their energy and how to not take on everybody’s problems as their own💪❤️ . As someone who has been, like I said both a hairdresser and a psychotherapist, I have first hand experience of being behind the chair but I also have solutions due to my therapy training🤓❤️ . If you want to learn how to protect your energy from…. Clients sadness Clients dumping on you Clients who just moan🤪 Clients you feel devastated for😔 Clients who are draining .
