Happy Chiropractic Founders Day!
Did you know that September 18th marks the official birth of chiropractic care?
On this day in 1895, Dr. D.D. Palmer performed the very first chiropractic adjustment in Davenport, Iowa. His patient was Harvey Lillard, a janitor who had lost most of his hearing 17 years earlier after feeling something "pop" in his back.
Palmer examined his spine, found a misplaced vertebra, and manually adjusted it back into alignment. Soon after, Lillard reported that his hearing was dramatically improved! This historic moment changed healthcare forever, proving how closely our spinal health is connected to our body's natural ability to heal.
Today, we celebrate over 130 years of helping people live healthier, pain-free lives naturally. If it has been a while since your last adjustment, celebrate today by scheduling a visit to keep your spine aligned and your nervous system functioning at its best!

Protect your spine with simple daily habits that support recovery between visits. Set up an ergonomic workspace: keep your monitor at eye level, sit with feet flat and a neutral spine to reduce strain. Check your sleeping posture: use a supportive pillow and sleep on your side or back to keep the spine aligned. Do quick mobility checks each morning—gentle neck and hip movements help maintain range of motion and catch stiffness early. These habits complement chiropractic adjustments, massage and stretch therapy, which help to prevent re‑injury and promote long‑term spinal health. Recover smarter with a quick stretching routine you can do after an adjustment. 1) Cat–Cow (mobility): 8–10 slow reps to maintain spinal flexion/extension. 2) Perform an Upper Trapezius stretch: hold 20–30s repeating 2 to 3 times. This will help to ease neck tightness. 3) Doorway pec stretch: 2×30s to open the chest and support alignment. These stretches help to support your lower back and neck.
