Black Dragon Yoga

13 years to the day that Black Dragon Yoga: The Foundation Series was released I present to you now the final installment of the heptalogy, The Yoga Nidra Series. Very late in posting these pics from our awesome Dallas Animal Flow Master Class I had the pleasure to lead a few weeks ago. Was an incredible group and we were able to cover a great deal of the system. Everyone was very prepared to move and got to peek behind the curtain of Animal Flow and learn more about the layers of the practice and see how one could get a handle on a practice for themselves.
Thanks to everyone that made it to this special event and don’t forget, our facility, is hosting the official two day Level One Instructor Certification for Animal Flow May 3-4. The GOAT 🐐

I’m not placing myself in a beast category as any more “beast” than anyone else, however, I find it interesting when people have told me they’ve always wanted to learn martial arts, for instance. Not as an inquiry to train with me, just in conversation. Having heard this numerous times, with no sincere follow up, typically I’ll say “no you don’t”.
If you wanted to do martial arts, you’d be doing it, not talking about it. What they really mean to say is, “I’d like to already know and be able to do martial arts”, because learning, PRACTICING and dedicating yourself to this or any discipline is an entirely different undertaking. People aren’t usually prepared for the tediousness of these kinds of challenges. If I want to kick and punch, and feel powerful, what is the value in holding a low horse position for 5-10 minutes (for beginners)? Humility….inner strength. What does humility have to do with strength? Everything….
Bruce Lee said, "Before I studied the art, a punch to me is just like a punch, a kick just like a kick. After I've studied the art, a punch is no longer a punch, a kick no longer a kick. Now that I understand the art, a punch is just a punch, a kick is just a kick."

One of those, if you know you know sort of things. You perceive something as simple, discover there’s way more to it than you ever imagined and then re-simplify with your newfound depth of understanding.

These concepts are not exclusive to martial arts training! This could be a career or a relationship you’ve always desired, and come to realize the challenge of what it really takes to get and have what you wanted. Best of fortune to you in all of your beastly pursuits!!
