Most people choose their shampoo based on their hair. I often choose it based on their scalp.
One of the most common things I see is someone struggling with hair that feels dry, dull, heavy, oily, or difficult to style, and immediately assuming they need a different conditioner, treatment, or styling product.
Sometimes the solution starts much earlier in the routine.
Your scalp is skin. Just like the skin on your face, it has unique needs that can change with age, environment, stress, hormones, medications, and even the season. When the scalp isn't properly cared for, the hair can often reflect it. And trust me, mine goes through stages REGULARLY!!!
That's why I spend time asking questions and making recommendations that are specific to the individual sitting in my chair, not simply what's trending online.
The right products should solve a problem, not create another one.

One thing about me: I love helping people stay ahead of the game.
A fresh blonding, seamless gray coverage, or a beautiful red all have one thing in common: they look their best when there's a plan in place.
That's why I'm such a big believer in pre-scheduling your next reservation before you leave. Not because I want to fill the calendar, but because I want you to have access to the days and times that work best for your life.
Of course, life happens though!!!
I regularly receive messages from guests who need to reschedule a reservation due to travel, work, family commitments, or the unexpected curveballs life likes to throw our way. The good news is that when guests are scheduled in advance, I can often help with a swap with someone who has a little flexibility in their schedule.
In many cases, it's much easier to move an existing reservation than it is to find a brand-new opening when you need one.
So if you ever need a different day or time and don't see what you're looking for through online reservations, send me a DM! Sometimes there's an opportunity that isn't visible online, and I'm always happy to see what options might be available.
A little planning today can save a lot of frustration later.

Most people know me as a hairstylist, salon owner, educator, and bowler.
But if you've spent any amount of time around me, you probably know my real favorite title: Cat Daddy Chad.
This handsome guy is Atticus, my largest Maine C**n and arguably the sweetest soul in the house. As he's gotten older (and much larger), he's become more and more of a lap cat. The only challenge? He's long since outgrown fitting on just a lap. These days, he prefers claiming an entire chest as his personal lounging spot.
One thing people are often surprised to learn about me is that I intentionally schedule time to do absolutely nothing!!!
I love traveling, teaching, competing, and staying busy, but if I'm not careful, I can fill every open space on my calendar. As an introvert, I need quiet time to recharge. Protecting those days of rest helps me show up as a better artist, educator, friend, and human.
Sometimes the most productive thing we can do is slow down.
For me, that usually looks like a quiet day at home, a good book, and a 23-pound Maine C**n reminding me that the couch is exactly where I'm supposed to be.

People often think adding a fashion tone means saying goodbye to blonde. 👋🏻
Not necessarily.
One of the things I love about working with blondes is that they can experiment. Soft blush pinks, rose golds, champagne peach tones, dusty mauves, and other subtle fashion-inspired shades can add a fresh twist without feeling over the top.
What makes this even more fun is that many of these tones can be softened, shifted, or removed far more easily than most people realize. Blonde hair creates the perfect canvas for a little creativity without always requiring a major commitment.
The black-and-white photo and the color version here are exactly the same hair. One feels timeless. The other feels playful. Both are beautiful.
Sometimes the change you're looking for isn't a completely different haircut or color. Sometimes it's just a little something unexpected that makes you see yourself in a new way.

People think being a hairstylist is about trends.
It’s really about trust.
Trusting someone to help you see yourself differently.
Trusting that they’ll listen.
Trusting that they’ll understand not only what looks beautiful, but what feels authentic to *you.*
After all these years behind the chair, I’ve realized the most meaningful part of this industry has very little to do with formulas or techniques alone. It’s the relationship that gets built over time. The conversations. The consistency. The comfort of knowing someone understands your lifestyle, your routine, your confidence, and the version of yourself you want reflected back in the mirror. And knowing they will be there when things change.
The artistry matters deeply to me. Always will.
But so does the person sitting in the chair.
That balance is what I’ve built my career around.

Most people don’t think about what happens after the foil comes out, the color gets rinsed, or the floor gets swept. Honestly? Most of the beauty industry never really taught us to.
But those small behind-the-scenes choices are adding up.
From recovering salon waste, to keeping excess chemicals out of water systems, to finding new purpose for materials that would normally end up in landfills… these little shifts help create a healthier future for the next generation, while also making an impact right now.
No guilt trip. No “perfect sustainability” speech. Just trying to do beauty a little more thoughtfully over here. 🤍
And yes… your haircut may secretly be helping the planet.
One thing I think about constantly as a hairstylist? Your REAL life.
Not just how your hair looks walking out of the salon, but how it works for you on a Tuesday morning. Whether you’re leading meetings in a boardroom, traveling, managing a household, mastering the carpool schedule, or balancing all of the above.
When I create a haircut or hair color, I’m always considering the level of time, styling, and maintenance you realistically want to give it. My goal is for your hair to support your lifestyle, not compete with it.
I want you to feel polished, confident, and like the best version of yourself… whether you spent 45 minutes styling it, or 5.
