Tight Hip Flexors and/or a tight lower back? Try this dynamic stretch every day and watch how your pain dissipates while creating space. If you can’t grab your foot, use a strap to help you hold the foot up. With a continued practice, you will be able to drop the strap and will feel a lot better.

I’m pi**ed and if you are a yoga teacher from the United States and you’re in my situation, you should be pi**ed too. I blame this on the Yoga alliance for not requiring these things of teacher trainings. Why did I spend all of this money and all of this time and I’m thinking I am teaching honestly and with the integrity of Yoga if I am just scratching the surface. How can I call myself a “teacher “? Maybe I’m an instructor. But I’m not a teacher. I have not been taught to read and to know. The Ramayana The Vedas Hatha Yoga Pradipika The Upanishads we barely touched on the Yoga sutras of Patanjali never learned about Mantra never learned about Mudra and that pi**es me off so I’ve taken it upon myself to learn these things myself.

Anterior pelvic tilt gets a bad rap in yoga⬇️ yes, you don’t want to live in a chronic anterior tilt all day, all the time… But that doesn’t mean it’s something we should avoid training 🙂‍↔️ In fact, in forward folds like pancake, learning how to find anterior pelvic tilt is often what unlocks depth and ease in the pose 🔓 When your pelvis stays stuck in a posterior tilt here, it literally becomes a barrier between you and your fold🥴 You run out of space before your body has actually reached its range But when you can find the ability to tilt the pelvis forward, you suddenly create space for your spine to lengthen and your hinge to deepen. This is why I’m such a big advocate for training range, not avoiding it :-) Try it in your own practice and notice: does your fold feel more spacious, more supported, more accessible? And if you missed Part 1 with the prep drills, comment “PREP” below and I’ll tag you in that post 🩵 And just a reminder: this isn’t a one-and-done shift it’s a skill that builds with repetition, awareness, and consistency 👁️ Props can absolutely help here too 🙌🏼 blocks under your knees and/or elevating your hips can all support you as you explore this range Follow for more yoga teacher guidance💚
