On a more serious note, sunburn has lasting effects even once the red fades or skin peels. Sunburn can leave your skin damaged for several MONTHS, and spray tans do a great job of magnifying that damage when you get them after a burn. However, the sun is not your enemy!! We love the sun & the benefits it brings to your skin. But, like anything, too much of something can be harmful. Which is why your spray tan artist is such a crazy woman about sunburn 🤪 Here are a few things you can do this summer to get that gorgeous natural tan you love without sacrificing the health of your skin:
1. Choose a mineral based, broad spectrum sunscreen 🧴
2. Take the sun in stretches. Build your time up gradually as your skin reunites with the sun. ☀️
3. Seek natural shade during peak hours (10am - 4pm) 🌴
4. Choose lightweight, breathable fabrics to cover your skin periodically or to break up stretches in the sun. Wear a hat to protect the delicate skin in your face! 👙
5. Hydrate!!! Not just with water & electrolytes through the day, but use aloe or a hydrating balm after being in the sun (yes, even if you aren’t burnt) to nourish & soothe your skin. 💦
It’s 100% possible to get a gorgeous tan without absolutely frying your skin. Many women choose to get a spray tan to feel confident in their summer wear as they gradually build their tan, but beware that spray tans do NOT have sun protection & you still need to follow safe sun tanning practices. They are 100% aesthetic and WILL boost your confidence 🙂↕️

If you’re anything like me in the summer, every year it gets harder and harder to get out into the sun for a good tan 🤣 it’s one of the reasons I love airbrush tanning so much - I can feel confident in my summer wardrobe even when I don’t have time to lay out.

As I slow down for the first time in two years to soak in this precious, special, God gifted season of life, I just want to say thank you to every single woman who has trusted me to give them a tan. For me, it’s more than that - it is an honor for me to be involved in your events, weddings, showers, engagements, dances, or even just because moments of life.
Whether I have sprayed you once or 1,000 times, it means so much to me that you would choose not only this business I believe in but me as your spray tan artist. I thank the Lord for each client and pray the Lords hand over each one. He has been so gracious and kind to me and this little business, as have you!
