My name is Johana. I was born in Haiti and raised in Fort Lauderdale FL. I am 23 years old and have been braiding my own hair for as long as I can remember.

It’s been a long journey learning how to properly take care of my hair. I’ve tried about every hair craze there is: hot oil treatments, heated deep conditioning sessions, avocado and egg hair masks, rice water EVERYTHING. It’s been a series of trials and error but the one thing that always benefitted my hair growth journey was protective styling.

I learned how to braid from my mother and from an early age I practiced hairstyles on myself and my little sister. Over time I’ve taught myself how to use braiding hair and really began to explore the versatility of protective styles after I went natural. My local beauty supply knew me very well because almost every weekend I was there either buying more hair or trying out new products. Eventually friends and family began to notice my skill and would ask me to style their hair as well. Practice makes perfect and my confidence in my skills have grown so much that I have turned hair braiding into a full time side hustle.

On Sight Beauty and Braids 💖 is dedicated to giving clients a unique and satisfactory hair styling experience. Braiding is not just a hobby, I don’t do it just for the money, it is my passion and I have taken time to perfect my craft. Hair styling is an intimate ritual process that requires trust in your stylist, so I prioritize building relationships with my clients and make sure that when they leave my chair they will feel rejuvenated and confident.
