Aging & Healthy Living
Aging & Healthy Living is about caring well for the life God has given us and believing there is still purpose in every season.
We are a faith-rooted community for women nourishing body, mind, and soul. We are setting the table & hope you pull up a chair
What I know at 61 that I wish I knew at 40…
Not everything is important!!!!
September always seemed to come in like a whirlwind: Back to school, new schedules, fall sports, forms to sign, work, dinner, laundry. Trying to remember where my son had to be and when...
And I remember thinking so many times, I can’t wait until things slow down. I wish I hadn’t wished so much of it away.
Because some of those things I thought had to get done right then really didn’t.
The laundry could wait.
The house didn’t have to be perfect.
Something could stay on the list until tomorrow.
What I didn’t understand then was how quickly those ordinary days would become the days I would miss.
The child who wanted to sit at the table and tell me something that probably seemed very long at the time.
The ride home from practices. The noise. The backpack by the door.
Just being needed in all those little ways. 🥰
I’m not saying I would have done everything differently. I was just tired, and life was busy. And sometimes there really were too many things to do.
I think I would have stopped a little more often.
I would have worried less about what wasn’t getting done and reveled a little more in what was right in front of me.
Because there will always be another list.
But there won’t always be another September just like this one.
It’s okay to take a break. Sit with them when they tell their stories. Linger in the moments that matter, even when everything else is calling your name
What’s one ordinary moment you want to slow down and notice this September?
Welcome to September. 🍂
Our Aging & Healthy Living website is still in the works, but while we’re waiting for it to launch, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to introduce you to the heart behind what we’re creating.
Aging & Healthy Living is built around five pillars that represent the different parts of our lives. Over the coming weeks, I'll introduce each one and share some of the conversations we’ll have together.
We’re starting with Health & Wellness.
Because aging gracefully isn’t simply about how we look. It’s about learning how to care for the bodies we’ve been given and becoming healthier, stronger, and more intentional in this season of life.
We’ll talk about healthy habits, movement, nutrition, rest, mindset, and the things that help us live well—not perfectly, but intentionally.
And that brings me to something I’ve been thinking about lately: discipline.
I recently heard Chase Hughes define discipline in a way that completely changed my perspective:
“Discipline is the ability to prioritize the needs of your future self ahead of your present self.”
That stopped me!
What does the future version of me need me to do today?
How can I take care of the woman I am becoming?
Maybe discipline isn’t deprivation.
Maybe it isn’t forcing ourselves to suffer or constantly denying ourselves the things we want.
Maybe discipline is simply an act of caring for our future selves.
The walk I take today.
The food I choose today.
The rest I allow myself today.
The boundaries I establish today.
The choices I make today that may not feel important in this moment, but will matter to the woman I am becoming.
That’s the conversation I want to have.
Not about becoming perfect.
But about becoming intentional.
So let’s get started. In one word, what is one thing your future self needs you to do today?

Our Aging & Healthy Living website is still in the works, but I wanted to start the real conversation anyway.
We're built around five pillars — starting with Health & Wellness. Because aging gracefully isn't about how we look. It's about learning to care for the bodies we've been given, and becoming more intentional in this season of life.

What is one thing your future self needs you to do today?
I hope you join us. 🍂
There is so much we can learn from one another when we slow down long enough to listen.
I’m looking forward to learning from women who have walked through seasons I haven’t yet reached, and also from those who may be walking through something I already know a little about.
Different ages. Different stories. Different seasons.
But so much wisdom to share.
I think that is one of the things I’m most looking forward to.

Good Morning,
I have been sitting with this verse all week:
"She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future." Proverbs 31:25, the verse that was part of Friday's post. This woman is laughing. She is laughing without fear of what is coming...
I do not always feel that way, but I want to.
I think learning to trust God with the future while tending faithfully to the present is one of the most important things we can do in the second half of our lives.
So this week I am setting an intention to trust that He is holding me in the palm of his hand. To remember that He has already written tomorrow, and to laugh, not because everything is figured out, but because He is with me, and that is enough.
Maybe you need that reminder too. Tell me in the comments what one thing you are trusting God with this week?
Pull up a chair and rest here for a minute. He has got tomorrow.
Happy Sunday, Friend.

Everyone is talking about pumpkin spice, changing leaves, sweaters, and fall. But outside your window, the garden is still producing.
The flowers are still blooming. The season you're in still has something to give.
And this is where I want to linger.
To enjoy the gift of today. To revel in its glory and abundance. To sit in gratitude for all that has been given to me.
Maybe God is reminding me that I don't have to rush into the next season. There is still beauty here. There is still life here. And there is still something to receive.
"Be still, and know that I am God." — Psalm 46:10
A few of you have reached out, and we want to address this directly.
Aging & Healthy Living is not network marketing. It is not a business opportunity.
There is nothing you have to buy to be part of this community, and nothing you have to sell.
It is a blog, a weekly Sunday Letter, and a community for women in the second half of life who want to talk honestly about faith, food, health, home, and what it means to live this season well.
That is it! No pitch. No recruitment. No product to move.
The Sunday Letter is free. The community is free. We will also have a prayer team of women who will pray over every request submitted through our website, and that will ALWAYS be free.
There may be optional resources available for women who want them, but you do not have to purchase anything to belong here.
You belong here simply by showing up, and we understand why some of you wondered. We have all seen the “something big is coming” posts that eventually turn into a recruitment pitch.
That is not what this is, and we never want you to wonder what our motive is.
Aging & Healthy Living exists because we believe no woman in the second half of life should walk this season unseen or alone.
That is the heart of it. Pull up a chair. No strings attached.
