To my clientele family,

I’m happy to announce some exciting news! First off, I miss you all!
Secondly, Governor Baker has just announced salons are able to open beginning May 25th. Now that we have a definite opening date, I will be in touch with all my clients regarding all appointments, regardless of when your appointment was scheduled for. I thank you for your continued patience and understanding as I navigate and implement the new protocol and added restrictions at time of opening. Please look out for follow-up messages and calls that will provide the needed information for your new guidelines as clients, as your comfort and safety is priority! It takes many hours of preparation behind the scenes to insure a smooth re-opening!
More great news! I am happy to welcome my friend and amazing stylist, Vanessa Nogueira to The Knot as an independent stylist! Vanessa and I have worked alongside for many years and I am excited that she will be moving her talents to the studio and joining in the experience of The Knot. Upon opening and until further notice, we will be scheduled opposite of each other to ensure sufficient physical distance and safety for all.
Many changes and updates were being worked on prior to the pandemic and since then, these updates have been ever-evolving. Our industry, as for many, if not all, will have a “new-normal” but we want to assure that we will do our best to uphold client satisfaction. We know many are eager to be serviced and we can’t wait to see you. We want to thank you for your patience, especially with new scheduling and all the new protocol. We did not have any information prior to the public announcement of openings where we learned of our timeline at the same moment our clients did, so the situation can be quite overwhelming, especially with only being given one week’s notice. That said, I am forever grateful for the support. Thank you!

To my clientele family,

As per Governor Charlie Baker’s March 23, 2020 order, all non-essential businesses are to be closed until noon April 7th, 2020.

The Knot Hair Studio will be closed until then or pending further notice, as the nature of information and regulations are always updating.

I’d like to address some of my client’s concerns:

1. Is my appointment still standing?

Because of the circumstances and the nature of scheduling, those who have been cancelled will be worked into the schedule to be accommodated immediately. All scheduled appointments are subject to change according to any changes of regulations.

2. Can you offer me a personalized root touch-up kit? I have seen other salon’s doing so for their clients.

While I would love to offer this solution to you, I am unable to. I am not willing to jeopardize your safety or risk personal liability. I am aware other salon’s may be offering some type of touch-up kit to their clients. That is up to their discretion. My color line does not support and I do not provide such kits.

I am overwhelmed with the sincere support from you all. I understand majority of those asking about these kits are to help and support myself and my business, to help me while I am unable to work. I appreciate your thoughtfulness and awareness of how impacting this is not only to myself as a single-mother but to this entire industry, as we are all in the same boat. People are truly kind and generous and I am proud to call you my friend.

3. Can you tell me what to buy at the drugstore so I can touch up?

Anyone can walk into a drugstore or retail beauty store and purchase product themselves (boxed dye kits, permanent or semi/demi hair color, developers, and the necessary tools), I cannot recommend “a comparable” custom mix nor can I predict the outcome and result of these products. I am not educated in public retail color lines. My professional licensure and education pertains to my professional-grade product lines only.

I would like to also include, should you perform any self-coloring, (which is against my recommendation), color-correction services will be needed in your future appointments. Please let me know if you have gone this route, as I will need to allot extra service time for your color correction. This is important for upcoming scheduling across the board as I am your one-on-one hairstylist and as we all know, I am booked a year out.

That’s all my left shoulder talk, now I’ll give you my right shoulder talk. Believe me, the panic has set in, one’s mind starts racing of worries and what-if’s and how-will’s, but I had a few good cries as client’s were popping by Friday to do some amazing gestures. I could not hold it together. Boy am I lucky and have amazing people by my side and around me. I truly feel loved. This has been my industry for 26+ years, and even have some clients that have been with me since day 1. That, to me, is a true blessing. And that is one of many to count during this hard time for all. This is a reminder to myself that at the end of it all, health and safety are number 1 for everyone.

During this time, I will be working on all scheduling and be in touch with you to get you back on track. I will adjust my structured hours temporarily, in order to get you all back in as soon as possible. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated and I hope that you and your loved ones are and remain in good health during this difficult time. ❤️

And NO: I’m not cutting your hair short when we finally get to see each other again!!
And NO: I’m not giving you 3inch thick bangs either!!

But what I hope and will do my best to do, is make you feel refreshed and amazing after we are done! And fine, I will fix your bangs if you cut them yourself (please don’t) and go through the painful growth process together. 😜😘
