Today, our hearts are with the thousands of families affected by the closure of the Tyson plant in Joslin.

For my family, this news is deeply personal.

My parents began their American journey working at the plant when it was IBP after immigrating to the United States from Vietnam as refugees. Those long shifts and hard earned paychecks became the foundation my family was built on. My in-laws have also dedicated nearly three decades of their lives to that same plant.

This isn't just a plant to us. It's a part of our family's story. It's where dreams began, sacrifices were made, and futures were built.

That's why today's news isn't just another headline. Behind every announcement are thousands of families wondering what tomorrow will look like. Many of them are our clients, friends, neighbors, and members of this community we love.

At Salon R5, we're heartbroken alongside every family facing uncertainty today. The Quad Cities has always been a place where people show up for one another in difficult times, and I have no doubt that spirit will shine through again.
