Have had a few patients recently who went a long time with other doctors without being diagnosed. They wondered how they weren’t losing weight even with bariatric surgery and a GLP-1. Upon examination and questioning, it was clear they had lipedema. I try to post this twice a year because it’s important for awareness. LIPEDEMA not LYMPHedema is often times unrecognized in the clinic when someone comes in with a high BMI. Lipedema is a mixture of connective tissue and adipose. Unfortunately the way the tissue is, it does not respond to caloric restriction the same way regular adipose/fat does. This means that in this situation, calorie restriction and dietary improvement and exercise can help some with overall weight, but otherwise likely won’t be able to make a large dent in decreasing this tissue. Often times patients complain of pain in the tissue as well. There are some conservative treatments as well as surgical treatments. I’ll post some resources in my stories. If you’re a healthcare professional go download their new resource. ❤️ I have many lipedema patients who are saying they are having relief with GLP-1 agonists, but I think a formal study needs to be done. Even still, the lipedema tissue likely wont resolve.

I was a homeowner for 17 yrs in Florida 🙋🏽‍♀️
Once I realized the scam that home mortgaging and insurance was all about, I finally let it go in 2022.

The family who bought the home had an insurance increase from $2300 (mortgage payment ~ $4000) to over $4000 within the next 3 months.

The house was sitting in a flood zone for decades until the designation was removed a few yrs back so flood insurance wasn’t “required” by the mortgage company anymore.

One month before the closing, the reserve pond in the back of the house overflooded and I couldn’t leave the house for 2 days because the water almost reached the front door and the water was halfway to the tire of the car.

If your insurance requirement change or policies suddenly changes, pay attention, someone is trying to scoop that land from you.

Don’t fall asleep watching other people lose their homes like it’s happening in California TODAY.
