Missing this woman tremendously💔 Char is one of my day-ones when I first started working as a hairstylist down here in South Florida. She quickly became a dear friend turned Auntie. She was one of those sweet souls who would give you the shirt off her back when she had nothing. Always thinking about others and always had a smile to share even if she was going through hell inside. We’ve laughed and cried together through the ups and downs of life. Over 20 years of her friendship, she has been one of my biggest supports for many years.

Char suffered from lupus and fibromyalgia and was silently battling excruciating pain that went unnoticed to most. She lost a lot of her hair, which was why she held on to it all this time and turned it into something like an artistic expression. It was hard watching her suffer knowing there wasn’t much I could do besides offer her a safe space to vent and feel heard. In fact, she is one of the reasons why I took an interest in autoimmunity, functional medicine and health coaching.

This woman ALWAYS texted to thank me after she got home from her appointments and always made a point to make sure I knew what I meant to her. She would always come with a sweet treat to gift us with and would never miss my childrens’ birthdays. I will miss our weekly chats and updates and the days she would come along for my boring errands. She loved being my sidekick and would be so grateful she was out of her “dungeon” even if was just for a run to the store. I’ll miss her “chartoon” yellow and bright red hair that she absolutely loved and would commonly get complimented on in the Walmart parking lot 😂. Her humor was always on point and she would always refer to herself as “the old sea hag” lol. I will forever cherish the times we spent together even in the quiet, mundane moments. There aren’t many out there like my Char. Rest in the arms of The Most High now my sweet friend🩷
