Come this weekend and pick up some great vintage modern finds which in turn supports The Simon Kingston Foundation. Win Win!!
We are honored to announce our partnership with the Simon Kingston Foundation for this year’s 20th Century Cincinnati Vintage Modern Expo. A portion of this year’s ticket sales will directly support the foundation’s mission to assist young artists facing challenges related to mental health and addiction, as well as social justice initiatives. www.SimonKingstonFoundation.org
We’re also thrilled to present “We All Hold Each Other Up,” a beautiful screen print created posthumously from one of Simon’s sketches. This stunning illustration not only embodies a powerful message but also complements mid-century modern furniture perfectly. Available for purchase at the show, 100% of the proceeds from this print will go directly to the foundation. Special thanks to for generously donating these prints.
The Simon Kingston Foundation operates under the fiscal sponsorship of the Dayton Foundation.
Join us in supporting this meaningful cause and add a piece of art to your collection that resonates with both beauty and purpose.
A little over a week ago we hosted our grand opening and the launch of The Simon Kingston Foundation.
The foundation is in honor of owners Paula, whose son Simon and Niki, who's sister Justine were lost way too soon.
The tax deductible 501c3 foundation supports young artists in Dayton, mental health/drug addiction and social justice initiatives.
Paula's son shot and edited this video which captured the amazing energy of the evening.
So many many thanks to
.org.inc for all the help making this happen, to all the artists who set up and all of our amazing friends and families!! We love you all!
If you would like to donate, there is a link in bio 🙏

Paula here….
I don’t even know how to begin this post. The word to describe our launch can only be humbling! There were well over 200 people there (that’s only the count of who signed our book) cash donations at the door (@$5each) was close to $3000! That doesn’t include who donated directly to the foundation or a bunch of cash donations prior to the event OR sales of art!!!
But the greatest part of all of it was the “it takes a village” community! I kept hearing that this was the best thing people had seen in Dayton -now THAT’s humbling! I think that’s because the energy was absolutely incredible!!There were people of all ages there despite the fact that there were punk rock bands playing, lol.
We passed out 150 swag bags and ran out!!
There were so many people helping with this event that I feel like I didn’t even do anything.! But I want to thank each of you! And holy moly I’ll probably leave someone out and that’ll cause severe anxiety!
But here goes:
Niall Kingston (my baby daddy), who worked his ass off all week prior to hang art, do maintenance and pretty much anything we asked.
Constance Cynkar, who arranged the whole layout of the building and “smoking area” PLUS killed it on
Charcuterie !!
Drodge, who unwillingly became head bartender and brought a friend to help!
Longinow, I bow down queen!! She got all the artist, printed s**te, kept us on goal (and so much more) - she’s the s**t!!!! Anybody would be so lucky to hire her for events!!!! You’ll have to tag all your artists!
Byron Berry, who’s original idea for the entire opening I stole! Shout out midwest movement! Tag your artists!!
Wheat Penny Oven and Bar for so fu***ng generously providing ALL the cocktails and pizzas. Seriously, they freaking rock!!!!!! (I eat there WAY too much 😂) Liz, you’re the GOAT!
Dorothy Lane Market, for a surprise gift of all the beautiful varieties of killer brownies!! Terry Mayne we love you!!!
Suzanne Upthegrove Behm, for holding down the desk plus we just freaking love you!!
& heiseyglassco, the funk y’all brought….I bow down!! And a mosh pit for Simon Kingston!!!! Simon lined a mosh pit!
Ashley &Virgil who are installed artists in the salon. Thank you 🙏
And holy cow to all my friends, clients and past coworkers who came out (A lot of you were from Cincy 💋)
Again I’m sure I’m forgetting someone or something. Please forgive me as I am still on cloud 9!
Anyone that has photos please tag us @ Pretty House Salon! We want to share them all.
Last, but not least Desmond Kingston ( my son) did a documentary on the evening via film and pictures. That will be coming in the next week. Stay tuned!
