Over the weekend, I got my hair done by my dear friend and fellow artist, Raquel of Root & Bough, and I’m just sitting in so much gratitude for her. Shes taken care of my hair for literally years now.

What started as small moments of support over time has grown into something deep, steady, and real. Trust built layer by layer… not only in the work we do, but in life itself.

She’s held space for me in ways that go far beyond hair, with a kind presence that allows you to feel safe and seen and supported.

And when she called me sister in her post… it landed right in my heart.

I love you, I value you.

So grateful our paths found each other! 🌿

I have something really special to share.

My sister, Whitney, will be joining me in my space at Black Swamp Dreadlocks… and this combination of care truly feels like it was always meant to happen.

Whitney is the heart and hands behind Massage By Whitney, and she’s been a massage therapist for over 10 years now. She specializes in relaxation, deep tissue, and neuromuscular massage therapies. Hot stones and cupping are also offered with her sessions.

This isn’t just work for her… it’s something she carries naturally… a deep care, an intuitive presence, a gentle energy.

And beyond that… she’s my sister.

We share a bond that runs deep, and to be able to hold space alongside each other like this feels really sacred to me. Two different paths of care, coming together under one roof.

And in that spirit… you may also see my kiddo, Lenny, around the studio. They’ve been stepping in, helping me braid and create synthetic sets… learning the craft, being part of the process, and honestly just weaving into this space in such a beautiful way.

This is becoming something bigger than just a business… it’s family. It’s legacy. It’s blood, sweat, and tears… and all my love poured into every part of it.
