So let’s just say, extension installs don’t always go to plan. I color matched my client at her last appointment in July for new extensions.
When they came in, I thought they were a touch too warm for her hair but thought maybe it was cause they were bundled up.
I still wasn’t happy with how they looked against her hair so it was a team effort to get the right ones within an hour to the salon.

I could NEVER grow my hair past a certain point. Probably because I was always curling/straightening it/ and over washing it.
Now I only curl my hair when I wash it every 5 days and then brush it out the rest of the week.
But since having extensions for now 1.5 years. It’s grown a ton. It’s healthy and it gives me joy to have a little bit more fullness specially since I’m going through the shredding process that some go through after having dumb covid.
So, if you’ve ever thought that extensions would damage your hair. Here’s results to hopefully encourage you to get them or at least think about them more.

She came to me wanting to just go dark because her hair got damaged from a bleach out from a different stylist.
I know blondes, and they DO NOT want to go dark. So we comprised with a shadow root and tone down her ends a pinch.
BUT THENNNN, I suggested extensions for her so she can grow out her compromised pieces and have full hair at the same time.
She’s like “whattt” and I’m like “I gotchu.”

What do you think of when you see or hear someone getting hair extensions?
- She just wants something unnatural.
- That’s a waste of money.
- That’s too much money.

Sure, on some people it can look unnatural because it’s not blended well. And yeah, the initial cost of the hair can be a good amount but it can also last a whole year as long as you take care of it.
But it is never a waste of money. I always say, “if it makes you feel better, then do it” when it comes to beauty. I mean yeah, don’t go overboard.
You never know why someone is getting extensions these days. It could be that they want length and can’t grow their hair out. Their hair got damaged with a previous color or it could be them wanting more hair due to hair loss from covid, postpartum, stress, etc.
It’s a great way to gain a little more confidence and feel like a badass chick!

But what’s a better way to come back in with a total change post!
My client decided enough with the bleaching so her hair can be healthier. And now, back to mostly her natural color. A great way to stay blonde but without going to dark is just color melting. Darker root and with a lighter end gloss. And if you miss your blonde. Then add extensions in there for the dimensional look.

WRONG! You can still brighten up your hair but it doesn’t have to be the typical blonde. It can be copper or a lighter brown or WHATEVER YOU’D LIKE!

I think I was just asked to be in their wedding party because I do both the bride and grooms hair…
Just kidding. They are my really amazing friends and it’s just a bonus that I get to make sure the brides hair looks good the entire day.
