Many of you know that my T**i Eliana suffered an anoxic brain injury, which has left her wheelchair bound. Despite everything being able to get out of the house mean the world to her.
In this video, my sister, Grandma and cousin (her son) were able to rent a van for the day so we could take her out to eat and attend an event at our place of worship. Seeing her smile, laugh, and simply enjoy being outside reminded us how powerful these moments are. Things like going to a restaurant, attending worship, or even sharing a simple meal with her son in public bring her so much happiness and a sense of normalcy.
Because of this, we’ve made it a goal to raise enough to purchase a wheelchair accessible van for her. Having reliable transportation would truly change her day to day life and allow her to experience the world more freely and more often.
