One of my best friends in this whole world, my hero, my mentor, and my teacher has passed away at the age of 87. Bill Ackley was a warm wonderful individual, with a huge heart, who gave a young 25-year-old kid (me) his start in the barber business. I owe so much to this man, I could never begin to repay all that he has done for me in my life. Heaven has truly gained an angel. He was the best barber I've ever seen, I'm telling you, he had a set of skills that couldn't be matched. Also, he had the perfect personality to be a barber. He was soft-spoken, agreeable, wise, and very patient with people. (NONE OF THAT RUBBED OFF ON ME, SORRY BILL!!! 😛)He was a wonderful family man, Pansy Ackley and He were married for over 60 years. He was a great dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather...... When I met Bill, I walked away saying to myself, I think I just found my life's work. 25 years later, your spirit lives on . You will always be the heart and soul of the Sandusky Street Barber Shop. I will always love you, Bill, and will always carry the torch. I promised you 22 1/2 years ago that I would do the barber shop justice and I would do everything in my power not to run it into the ground. Well, it's still alive, and doing well, I hope to always make you proud. I will always miss you, old friend ♥️..... Please keep Bill's family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. I will post funeral arrangements as they become available
