Thank you all so much for the last 9 years!
We started Dr. Jon's as a hobby, more specifically a way for me to pay for my newly found and very expensive hobby of shaving. I thought it would be fun to make a few soaps and hopefully pay for my monthly shipment from various shaving stores. I didn't realize that we end up running a full time business, shipping tens of thousands of soaps and aftershaves around the world and making this our day to day lives, this wasn't ever really our plan.

Recently I was offered a position managing a Volvo dealership for the Garber organization in Rochester, NY and that has been my primary focus for the last 10 wonderful months. Due to the amount of time that I spend at the dealership, we have been neglecting other parts of our lives including all of our Dr. Jon's customers and that has brought us to the difficult decision to shut our doors. It isn't fair to all of you to give substandard service and limited offerings just as it isn't fair to my family and employer to take what little time I have away from them. This was not an easy decision but it is the right decision for everyone.

I want to thank everyone that has supported us over the years and enjoyed the products that we put into the market. It was truly a honor to serve all of you whether you were just trying to get a good shave or adding a little extra to your lifetime supply of shaving goods. All of your kind words and comments have meant more to us than you can ever possibly know.

If you are looking for any last minute Dr. Jon's items, please check with your favorite shaving retailer. We have shipped the last of our items and will be shutting down the website and social media accounts this week.

Dr. Jon met me at the airport yesterday after being gone for 9 days. Both in need of some down time, had us covered. I’m pretty sure may have had a hand in decorating this place😆❤️🐢 Finished up the afternoon I think we may have found our two new favorite places in the ROC.

This was an extra special shave as I have a loaned item and a gifted item included from two different members of the wet shaving community…the Carbon Shaving Co.] 316L & the Gillette Nacet blades. I had a fantastic Friday shave and am feeling so fortunate to be part of such a great group. Happy Friday Everyone!

So this my second time with with this soap and it was just as fun as the first time! I promise not to gush about Burt Reynolds again. As before, I get mostly a fresh incense (not a stinky college kid unsuccessfully trying to “cover up the smell of weed” kind of incense) with a touch of citrus and leather. The artwork is memory inducing and I love that it’s in a tin! It’s just a good time shaving with this set! Thank you John and Kim!

I finally remembered to switch my overlander handle out for my Brass Christopher Bradley handle. With the wider head, the overlander looks a little unbalanced with the 3” handle but made no difference with how it cut hair. And as expected, it was another great shave with this razor! Super low blade feel with high efficiency!!!

My Smoke over gold Trotter was a great color match and the G5C synthetic knot was its usual master of lather ceremonies (I know, I was reaching on that one. It’s Tuesday morning, what do you want from me?)

Anne Bonny is easily my favorite soap to make. It’s the only fragrance where I get to have a shot while I’m mixing the fragrance!
