Can we please ditch this (unintentionally) insensitive phrase? Here’s why... 👇🏻

I’m not here to be snarky or assume intentions. Maybe they mean well. But sometimes, well-meaning words can land with a thud, especially if you’re still processing the fact that this is your new normal, not a detour. ⚠️

Why does it hurt? Because, for many of us, this isn’t a temporary setback, and “get well soon” feels like a one-size-fits-all bandaid slapped on a gaping wound. There is no “get well soon.” There’s “get through today,” “manage this flare-up,” and “find moments of joy amidst the fatigue.” 🌻

It can also subtly morph into this pressure cooker of guilt. Like a dismissal of the chronic struggles we face. Like we’re failing and not trying hard enough to be “better.”⁣ 🙅🏻‍♀️

Now, I’m not saying to zip it altogether. But maybe a shift in language is just what the doctor ordered if your intention is to help your friend feel supported. Words that meet us where we are, in the trenches of chronic illness, not some fantasy land of full recovery. 💜

It’s okay if you don’t know how to make them feel better or feel like you don’t have the exact right words. Sometimes, the best medicine is simply being seen and heard.

Common things chronically ill people have to hear:
-You’ll get better soon!
-Don’t loose yourself in this illness
-You’ve changed since you got sick
-Just rest and Feel better soon!
-You were so different before you got sick
-Have you tried yoga?
-*lists celebrities they know with the same illness*
-Oh so you’re just tired all the time?

Hey y’all I just completed the Academy of Lymphatic Studies Post op MLD course!
This means that I’m educated and equipped to work on and help with any post surgery work! As well as specialized lymphatic work for BBL, breast augmentations, tummy tucks, and most plastic surgery procedures.

I love learning and educating myself more, and I can’t wait to do some more detailed lymphatic work with you all❤️❤️❤️

Let’s talk about FACIAL FILLER and how it affects your body long term. It’s important to know what is going into your body and what will happen long term.

Our lymphatic system is arguably one of the MOST important systems in our body as it is our entire immune system and immune response (cancer cell response), as well as managing swelling and making sure the cells in your body are correctly nourished.

When we inject silicone and plastics into these vessels, what happens long term?

Let’s talk about FACIAL FILLER and its affect on our lymphatic system!
Our lymphatic system is arguably one of the MOST important and necessary systems in our body. The lymphatic system is in charge of: Responding and recognizing cancer cells, pathogens, and is your entire immune response. It also provides proteins and other nutrients to the cells, as well as being in change of swelling.

How does this system work when we inject it with silicone or plastics? It’s important to be educated about these long term health risks before undergoing a procedure

Physician and trauma expert Dr. Gabor Maté elaborates on what a trauma-informed medical system looks like — a system that not only treats physical symptoms, but also inquires about the emotional, mental, and spiritual traumas that may have contributed to the development of disease.

Gabor Maté is a genius. He speaks on scientific connections between trauma, depression, ADHD, addiction, autoimmune diseases and so many other conditions that the medical system doesn’t understand.

Understanding that anything that affects your mental and emotional health HAS to be effecting your physical body is the missing link.
When we recognize that trauma and environment have a physical reaction in our bodies, we can understand how to grow, learn, and treat conditions in an informed way.

For more on this subject check out his new book “The Myth of Normal”

Cupping is my favorite modality because it really allows you to see what’s happening in the body, and allows you to flush toxins out, recovering faster.
Believe it or not, the cup was only on this spot for about 2 minutes tops. That tells you the level of muscle to bone adhesion, and muscular distress in the body.

If you have never received bodywork, you may find you pull spots like these the first fews sessions. This is totally normal. Our bodies hold on to a lot more than we think, so when the bodywork process starts, it can often be shocking what has been sitting in your body.

Chris is amazing at what he does. He provides such a safe and comfortable environment and is able to get deep into muscles. I love that he educates me on what muscles are my problem areas, and tells me how I can strengthen them. I can feel the change in my muscles already.
If you like deep pressure, Chris is the absolute best! 👏👏
