Why are you crying?🙃
As Elle Woods said, “What, like it’s hard?” 😂
Yes, Elle, it can be hard AND overwhelming. There is a lot of noise out there about what you “should” be doing to feel better in perimenopause. It can start to feel like you need a perfectly optimized routine and unlimited hours in your day for your new full-time job managing your health just to function.
I’m a big fan of trying different things and doing what’s best for you. Like, I don’t even import water from Switzerland. 😂
Here’s what is actually happening. Hormones like estrogen and progesterone are fluctuating, which affects every single system in your body. This includes your brain, your metabolism, your sleep, and your stress response. Cortisol can feel higher or more reactive, and your body has less tolerance for things that throw it off.
So yes, all those foundations to health are KEY! Nutrition matters. Movement matters. Sleep matters.
But thankfully it does not have to look extreme to be effective.
In fact, consistency with a few foundational habits will take you much further than trying to do everything perfectly for a week and burning out. Your body responds really well to simple, repeatable inputs, especially during a time when things already feel a little unpredictable.
