I grew up in the Deep South, and made my way to Colorado to escape humidity, snakes, and bugs. Two art degrees later, I discovered barbering and never looked back. It’s hard to shake the southerner out….I still love collard greens, and boiled peanuts, but I stopped saying “y’all” long ago.

If you were an animal, which one would you choose?

I’d be a dog…hanging my head out the window of the car, taking a nap anytime I feel like it, relishing walks and eating random things off the kitchen floor.

What are you listening to right now

I have developed a penchant for 1960s h***y tonk— the trashier, the better. 80s New Wave will always be a mainstay, though.

Favorite TV show

I’m watching The Righteous Gemstones (again). Danny McBride is pure genius!

Best hair care tip

You just can’t go wrong with a clean and crisp hairstyle. Use a hairdryer for some lift, then apply product to lay it back down into place.

Sleeping in on a day off would be ideal, but it rarely happens. There’s always a long to do list waiting for me.

What’s your game plan in the zombie apocalypse?

In a zombie apocalypse I plan to take shelter in IKEA, inside a fortress made of rugs, sleeping on furniture whose name I can’t pronounce, eating Swedish meatballs, cinnamon rolls, and drinking the weirdly unrecognizable flavors of IKEA fountain soda.

When you own a barbershop and have presents to put under the tree you improvise with a cutting cape tree skirt!!

Best hair care tip- dont air dry everyday. Always use heat protectant & leave in, be gentle!
