Salon Closing
Dear Clients and Friends:
We are writing to inform you that Double Dutch Hair Studio is unfortunately going out of business. Our building has been sold, and we have to close our doors at the end of September .
The success of Double Dutch over these 6 years has been largely due to you, our amazing clients. We have tried hard to make each one of our customers happy through exceptional customer service and we are very grateful to you for trusting in us for your hair and beauty needs. Thank you for your loyalty.
Our stylists are each going their separate ways, but want to continue to do your hair! We hope to make this transition as smooth as possible . We apologize for any inconveniences that this may cause.

We lost a part of our family over the weekend. Our hearts go out to Sunni's family & friends, she sure was a bright ray of sunshine & will be very missed.

Sunni Kay West
April 14, 1989 – May 15, 2016

I’ve tried so hard to find the right words to describe Sunni’s life. I think of Emily Bronte’s line from Wuthering Heights “She burned too bright for this world” but no, the first part is “She was a wild, wicked slip of a girl” and that doesn’t fit. Sunni may have been wild but she was never wicked. I thought of Elton John’s song “A Candle in the Wind” but that doesn’t fit either. Sunni was no simpering, weak willed, silver screen starlet. Finally I remember the story of Icarus, who though warned not to fly too close to the sun with his wax and feather wings, was so filled with exhilaration of his flight, he did exactly that, then plummeted to the sea to drown.

She was that kind of woman. A woman who grabbed life with both hands and squeezed out every drop. Good or bad, Sunni’s prime goal was to live each day as if it were her last. Then one day it was. She left behind those who loved her, taught her and cautioned her. All of our caring would not stop her from living way too fast, any more than our love could cushion her fall. What we must do now is celebrate the short time we had with her and forgive ourselves for not being able to control the events that have led us here.

We must pick up the reins of the living and vow to live the life that is uniquely ours. Live the best we can, make the most of what we have and remember our Sunni. As long as we stand sentinel to her memory, she will live on in our hearts. ---Sharon West
